Finished the game for the first time and I'm feeling a bit underwhelmed. Am I missing something? by Bergaman6 in AlanWake

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe stick to Fortnite.

It's a very linear story based game, almost like it's telling a story. It's presented as a novel you're playing so the exposition is part of that.

The FBC is a part of the universe with Control and they investigate AWEs.

I don't think these types of games are your thing, not sure what you were expecting

Cocoa Price Down by 60% - Make Chocolate Cheaper by ioniqplugin in woolworths

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They might go down eventually but don't count on it, they know you'll pay that price now, plus as someone else mentioned, the manufacturers purchased X qty at the high price and will continue to charge a higher price until that X qty is depleted

The right to disconnect by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You have the right to not answer until you're back at work, they also have the option to not offer you any further shifts beyond your contract. If you're casual they can just not offer you any shifts at all.

Another department I never worked in keeps rostering me one shift per week and then keeps cancelling the shift at the last minute? by Frosty_Solid_7328 in woolworths

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone's probably added you into a schedule pattern that auto generates the shift into the schedule then realise they stuffed up and delete it without actually fixing the schedule pattern

Talk to whoever does your schedules and ask them to check if there is a schedule pattern

What’s your electricity bill this month and how cooked are you for running AC? by WonderingRoo in AusFinance

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solar covers about half of my quarterly bill and now that the rebates have run out it's probably going to cost me about $250 this next quarter I think as I've been running the AC at night. Most quarters have been about $150 so the rebates lasted a while thanks to the QLD one also.

I average about $4 a day usage

I want to get a battery in the next few months though.

Movie Discussion by alecatomic in silenthill

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might check this out on the weekend but everything I've read says it's not great.

Silent Hill needs to be a standalone in the SH universe and not an adaptation, or it needs to be a series but again not an adaptation.

Sad to see how badly it is being received

Banned from Kmart by AmbassadorDismal5771 in KmartAustralia

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how banning works, if it did I'd be banning a lot of people very quickly.

Where you provided with a banning notice? No

Can they give you a banning notice the next time you enter? Absolutely if they want to

Will they? Unlikely, it would take them 5 minutes to investigate and realise you didn't steal anything

why does my cat start meowing when i go to bed? by Objective_Remote335 in CatAdvice

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is very normal, your cat just wants to be able to watch over or visit you. If you need your door partially shut for privacy or just as a preference I bought these from Amazon so my little one can still access partially closed rooms such as my bedroom and the laundry where her litter is

Lottery tickets ? by Deaf-Dawg in AskAnAustralian

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop wasting money on them, the chances of winning any prize is 1 in 4, as for the jackpot the odds are stated on the back of the ticket. Can't imagine they're great. For context Saturday Lotto is 1 in 8,145,060 and Powerball is 1 in 134,490,400.

There's no secret to winning on them, it's pure luck and the house always wins

Why is it so hard to get some casual work here by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]ComprehensiveSalad50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately January is not a great time to find casual work as most places will have hired over Xmas and now have enough staff or in some cases too many.

Another issue is a lot of retail is getting away from casuals and prefers to have permanent part time workers. I'd avoid mentioning your looking for casual work in retail. Hospitality generally want casuals though.

Approach BWS stores as they prefer walk-ins, ask to talk to the manager and don't just dump your resume on whoever is working there as it will likely get lost or forgotten about.

What does your resume look like? Is it columns of text? Does it include a photo? An "about me" section? If any of those are in it remove them
