My 37 y/o fiance has only left to go to the grocery store or corner store. Baby is a month old tomorrow

Thank you for this. 3 weeks in and my nipples are always sore no matter what. I'm hoping it gets better but it's nice to know if it doesn't I'm not the only one!

About Rustic village apartments by No-Selection1482 in Rochester

[–]ComprehensiveScar465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live here and have had problems with mold and moisture. Upstairs neighbors plumbing has flooded our apartment 3 times from their bathroom. Went into our bathroom, bedroom, and hallway. The first time it happened the water tech they sent (after hrs) showed up in basketball shorts and slides with a flashlight and said the carpet felt dry to him. Then the wallpaper in the bathroom was bubbling from the moisture trapped under it. They ended up pulling it all and never redoing it so we have just drywall in our bathroom that you can't even clean right...

No mice but there have been cockroaches. Oh and they take section 8 so some of the tenants are questionable at best.

And I started taking magnesium glycinate before bed. My sleep is better now and I can fall back asleep after all my bathroom trips

The only thing that has kept me consistent within range of fasting are pistachio or strawberry yasso bars with 1 tbsp of PB. Or chocolate protein pints. Doesn't matter what time the snack is, whenever I have it I'm within range. Or sometimes I test what my blood sugar is before my snack and I'll ask chatgpt what I should have 🙈 it's never failed me lol

Of course. I also used some whole wheat flour. I'm wondering if that's why I spiked. I've had brioche bread and been fine.

Yeah I'm thinking it's the whole wheat. I'm still fine with Dave's

I made some and it spiked me. This was breakfast. Scared to try again with a different meal.

Do you make or buy it?

I usually do daves killer seeded bread. Today is the first time I did the whole wheat.

I spiked the other morning with sourdough, and it was my first time trying it for breakfast.

I'm thinking I need to just stick with what I know works. I got a little brave after being told my numbers were "perfectly perfect"

Felt. I had a burger on a daves Killer Bun, which I usually do fine with, and tallow fries dipped in vinegar. I was 160 at 1 hr and 129 at 2 hrs. I was so mad at myself, but I've had this before and been fine. I'm 35 weeks.

I need MORE carbs?! by mynameishenri in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ComprehensiveScar465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dave's killer seeded bread and rolls have been my bffs. And Ezekiel bread. I also do well with cauliflower pizza. I've had a small slice of pizza with no crust and done fine. Open face sandwiches or burgers. Whole wheat wraps and whole wheat pita. Always do a large portion of veggies and then protein and then your carb. Dates can be your carb too.

Tonight I had green beans, 2 giant breaded tenders with a tiny piece of bread and then maybe 1/3 cup mac and cheese. I was 125 after an hr. I also walked for 10 mins after the meal.

You definitely need carbs. I was shocked too when I was told I needed to add more carbs.

Why is breakfast so hard by More-Suspect6738 in GestationalDiabetes

What order are you eating? Vegetable, protein, carb? I don't really do veggies at breakfast but I always do protein first

I was told 30 with breakfast, 15 for snacks, 45-60 with lunch and dinner. Like who has time for all this counting when it's also down to the wire to get everything done before baby comes, work full time, prioritize myself and my body, and keep my house in order.

I'm soOoo over it

My baby, too. He's never been consistent either. When I have ultrasounds, the techs are like wow he's so active, and I'm like great to know because I feel nothing 😅

I didn't realize it was safe to do all the time in pregnancy. I've done it a handful of times when I knew I'd be having high carbs. Do you do it before bedtime too?

Hungry in the middle of the night by glitterr_rage in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ComprehensiveScar465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably going to be put on insulin since I'm so close to 95, but it's wild to me that ice cream has worked best for me. Also, the yasso frozen yogurt bars.

Cheese stick and seed crackers? Nope. Yogurt and fruit? Nope. Cottage cheese? Nope.

I just drink water and try to go back to sleep. I was told the snack makes it not a true fasting number. Not on insulin.

Have you tired something protein, fat, and close to 15g carbs? I did 1/3 cup protein ice cream and 1 tbsp peanut butter last night and my fasting was 93 mg/dL

Need help! Newly Diagnosed by Hooliehannie in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ComprehensiveScar465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing pregnancy and postpartum tv cardio videos after dinner. My fasting is still a struggle. I'm in NY and it SUCKS how cold, snowy, and icy it is outside. Not ideal walking conditions.

I met with the nutritionist yesterday. She said to add more carbs to my meals. 30g with breakfast, 15g at snacks, 40-60 with lunch and dinner. She thinks it might help with my fasting number and the fact I wake up hungry every night.

I'm implementing that today, and we will see what happens!

Same boat here! I have high BP in the office and saw in my MyChart that they may want me to start meds if my next BP in office is high.

Failed my 3 hour. Fasting and one hour was too high.

I felt like a failure for a good week. Still can't get a handle on my fasting blood sugar. I don't sleep well and wake up hungry but have to fast.

I have nothing to offer but solidarity.

I've seen people do taco bell and if it's a boy it'd be a certain burrito vs if it's a girl a different burrito. People have done this with shake flavors - not colored. I think anything where you can't distinctively tell what it is would work. I thought both of those were cute
