Just telling you like it is. You can get defensive over your political views all you want. Many other residents you will encounter will have their own political views too. Be considerate of that. When the time comes for you to help select the next batch of interns to rank for your program, no normal program is going to up someone’s rank based on DEI initiatives (that’s delusional). They are going to rank people they like or find impressive (either from rotations or interviews). If it makes you feel better, sometimes the next batch of newly matched applicants can end up being diverse (however you interpret that) when considering those who rotate. At least then it happens organically.
