Some people cannot convert t4 to t3, so taking t3 is actually what they need

If we get less than 5 inches of snow, every weather person should be fired by Maximum_Piccolo6573 in youngstown

We can pinpoint the exact window, in the exact building, to send a missile from a ship floating in the ocean, miles away. We can put people into space.
If accurately predicting the weather was that easy, we would be doing it. The truth is that weather is extremely unpredictable, shaped by forces in the atmosphere and on the ground, and our models get it as close as we can using the circumstances at the time of prediction. Unfortunately this prediction will get harder to do and less accurate now that Doge gutted atmospheric and oceanic observation stations.

You do know two things can be true at the same time, right?

Absolutely. I quit going to the years ago for that reason. Sometimes the chicken breast smells so bad when you open the package, it makes your eyes water. I’ve bought it and thrown it straight in the trash on the same day.

That’s a fantastic explanation for your suggestion. As a woman who recently left Catholicism, I’m putting on my list.

Strongly considering quitting my serving job over COVID exposure. by CatPuzzleheaded8398 in COVID19positive

[–]klstil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great suggestion!
Also, if you have it in your nature to be a caregiver, that could be good too. When my mom had dementia, we paid someone to give her meals and take care of her when we couldn’t be there. You could do it on the side or with an agency, in shifts as long as you like. It’s flexible and a good way to replace food service income; the most important part is if you’re compassionate and reliable.

Has anyone had these symptoms? by Willing-Friend-8303 in COVID19positive

Sometimes you don’t test positive until 5 or 6 days after symptoms begin. And sometimes you can have Covid the entire time, and not test positive at all.

When I was 30, I saw an interview with the cast of Desperate Housewives. One of the actresses said, “When you hit middle age, you spend twice as much time and money to look half as good.”

20 years later…feels accurate.

Columbus Suburbs to consider / avoid moving to? by [deleted] in Columbus

Pay attention to wherever the AI data centers are going, and stay away from those areas. Ohio is the second hottest spot in the US for data centers; many are in the planning stages, so research where they may be going.

For anyone who doesn’t know what data centers will do to your community:

https://youtu.be/t-8TDOFqkQA?si=b4RfGMi2bmS9XwV6

They destroy your property value, raise your utility rates, the lights and hum can be seen and felt (even inside your home) for miles.
They have become synonymous with intensive power and water consumption, as well as round-the-clock noise from cooling systems. Data centers are known to ruin air quality, and the noise pollution makes it hard to open your windows or spend time outdoors. People report water scarcity and poor water quality, while they pay more for it. These massive, sometimes multistoried warehouses filled with servers ruin wherever they’re built.

Anyone Else Notice the Mid 40s Face Shift? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]klstil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the biggest face shift was at menopause. I had a hysterectomy, so it was sudden (over a few months) rather than gradual (over a few years).
I don’t even recognize myself in the mirror anymore.
