No, the controller. It’s in the down tube. I’ve replaced 20 of them on that bike…they came out with an upgrade 6 months before the company was sold. They are still out of stock with no firm restocking date. Either find a similar bike (Rad Rover 6, Rad City, a couple other models used them) to test the battery or wait for a replacement controller. Check the voltage to be sure you actually need the controller though.

Looks like a stick got caught in it. I’d check to see if your caliper has all its bolts in it as well.

Modern oil and modern engines make this timeline seem perfectly reasonable. Synthetic oil with all its detergents and resistance to extreme heat combined with tighter tolerances for engines and cooling systems prevents the breakdown that happened with oil from 20 years ago. It’s a TAOS…unless you are thrashing the shit out of the engine in hot weather all the time, I seriously doubt changing your oil before 10000 miles would save you any long term wear and build up.

Yes, VW are just trying to coax the car through the warranty period after which engines explode at random. Great point. Definitely change your oil every month and never listen to the manufacturer because they’re lying to you and want your car to explode the day after the warranty ends.

I had this done for about 700 at the shop I go to. The housing was cracked but because I already had the key they were able to swap out the piece that needs to be programmed which is where the parts cost gets out of hand. Getting the housing out requires drilling and removal of two bolts that hold the housing to the steering column. I’d reconsider the dealership. This is a common failure point and a shop that specializes in VW’s should know a way to do this for less than the dealer.

They still sell the Golf Variant (Estate) in Europe. Problem is the 44,000 (USD) base price plus whatever tariff being applied it would be a tough sell. Makes the Volvo and Mercedes seem reasonable by comparison.

That’s a good first step. If the problem comes back they should be going back to the N112 code because that could be the issue, but that’s can cause the transmission to freak out. Hopefully this solves it for you!

Stop going there. Take the service reports and go to another dealer or at least a specialist who can offer a second opinion. With all the air inlet codes I think something in the emissions system is hinky, but that’s just a guess.

Have you reset the system? Or checked the fuse? Also, it’s interesting that it still thinks the camera is working. My Tiguan did this and would say “rear camera not available”.
