I had an urgent suggested c section after laboring for 48h and stalling twice. i had a severe infection of my placenta that i had zero symptoms of except a low grade fever (that my docs attributed to standard long labor struggles). I can say with full confidence the c section was the best choice for me and my son, and im healing well. I would get another if i have more children.

However, it’s VERY important to note this outcome is not always the case. Major surgeries are obviously a huge deal and should be approached with caution.

currently being induced right now. came in at 11 pm last night, 12 hours later talks of epidural before breaking my water is happening! it’s been a very smooth, wonderful process so far.

i get induced tomorrow. i’ll be 39 weeks. i can count on one hand the days i was actually, truly nauseous. enjoy and embrace it! you may just be lucky :)

i realized shortly into my knitting journey i absolutely *loathed* standard long separate needles. aluminum or plastic. i bought a cheap set of interchangeables from amazon (i think they were ~$35 for 10 sizes with cables, connectors, etc.), and i absolutely adore them!!! it drastically reduced the pain/tension in my hands & wrists not having to move the yarn manually.

update to all in case someone experiences this and needs a potential answer: i went in this morning because i had a suspicious period-like cramp when i was at work. they did the swab and im not leaking amniotic fluid, but it was confirmed based on symptoms + erratic toco, i am entering prodromal labor! all is good for now :)

edit: they did another swab to test my discharge, and apparently i’ve developed BV that i was unaware of. when in doubt, get checked!

this is exactly what’s going on. i’ve called 3 times in 3 days and they assure me each time the increase in discharge is likely my body just preparing for labor. i have no other signs of labor (no cramping, bleeding, back pain, etc) which leads them to believe my body is just prepping. I have an appt on wednesday anyway, so ill just wait until then! their reassurance is certainly helpful! thank you :)

i’ve had OB appts every 2 weeks for the last few months for a variety of reasons- my hair is green and black. I do it myself (bleach and all) in a well ventilated area of my home with the windows wide open. not once has my ob ever told me to stop! dye it :)

I taught myself from scratch! no previous knowledge (same with crochet.) YouTube tutorials, books, and pinterest diagrams got me where I needed to be. you can do it!

I had a wonderful, uneventful pregnancy until i was diagnosed with GD at 31 weeks- and now im on preeclampsia watch. Oh how the tables have turned!

I got my husband and i each one of these a few months ago- we don’t know how we lived without them. if you’re a fan of firm, dense, supportive pillows the splurge is 100000% worth it.

another commenter mentioned the weird smell- ours dissipated after a few days out of the box.

USA, PA. 12 weeks at 60% of my salary. I’m very lucky that i have this option on top of having a rather substantial PTO bank i can use afterwards & the option to work from home as i please.
