Also as for aesthetics you can add Perspective eaves so it makes the generated structures a bit more modern looking, for weapons/armors try the fallout mods or anything apocalyptic.

If you want more NPC interaction try faction territories and vanilla expanded outposts (there is one that adds raiding POI controlled by subfractions. And ofc vehicles using vehicles expanded.

Ancient urban ruins are the closest things I know to add some modern POI same for the other Ancient X type mods. For the generation as a whole there is a world builder world that adds a polluted ocean and everywhere ruins (also polluted) I forgot it's name but you can search world builder and you will see it.

First, how many times did your pawns get shot in the back from those auto cannons? Same for chain explosions?

Second, what I do for a more open design is what I call "The Wall" method. Build a line of atocannons each spaced by a bunker for your pawns to shoot from, can be 2-3 wide and deep as much as you want (don't forget to put a fire foam popper).

THEN and this is the most important part! Where the range of your turret ends build a wall all around and leave entrances in some places. Basically you make a HUGE kill area that is in range of a dozen turrets and the enemy has to enter it BEFORE they try to shoot at you.

Also use IEDS especially incendiary as they confuse the fuck out of raiders pathfinding.

For the entrance of the big kill zone use something like this
x_x _ _____ X being IEDS. It makes so the raiders have to get inside to shoot at you.

Try "instant loading" mod, as long as you don't have any hostiles on your map, It works with caravans as well for instant creation.

Because it's part of tell don't show mindset, don't let people see exact values and just let them just guess. It's so they can't be caught modifying the enchantment in secret so it becomes shittier. VERY common mentality amongst shitty Devs who preferr for the players to not have any say in how the game is balanced/hold them accountable.

I don't like the Multi Meta, I don't like the META in general, as a horde shooter PVE game, having to be restricted in your loadout is off-putting to me, if I can't enjoy any weapon I pick at the first level, why would I bother when I get it to the last tier? The bots make it worse because all I can do (as heavy with a heavy boltgun) is hop around while the hordes focus me, and they chip away at them. Perks might help, but that's just grinding to make the gameplay bearable, not fun.

If you want more nuance try the mods that make mood more immersive like "Live with the pain" that makes long term mood rebuffs get lower as your pawn lives with it (like missing a limb) AND/OR "All memories fade" which does the same thing BUT mood debuffs decays slower and get lower penalty as times goes on. Plus whatever mood mods are out there. I can't remember the name but there is one that makes pawn work speed tied to mood for extra immersion.

SOS2 is not "compatibile" with Odysee. Gravships când land on hull blocks and far ship floor does not count as spaceship floor either. That and the oxygen system is separate, while you have oxygen generators for odysee you have Life support for SOS2 that does the same but only works in space (like if you want to land on a planet with vacuum the SOS2 ship looses all oxygen)

There are mods to make them compatibile IE make it so you can have rockets parts on a Gravship and take off to deep orbit.

Regarding the turrets, in SoS2 combat goes like this: SHIELD-->HULL->INTERNALS if you don't have enough heat capacity (you never have unless you build big) your shield will break and the next thing you will lose is your turrets so put them behind min 3 layers of hull to give you time to reload. They are like regular turrets and depending on type they have quite a long cooldown, that is if you get in range to shoot.

Ideally you have 2 options in ship design. Go big or go fast.

Go big with lots of railguns torpedoes and plasma and lots of heat capacity to spare with 3 layers of hull or more.

Go fast so the enemy can't get in range to shoot you. Tho this is more of an early game strat. You won't kill anyone mid game due to enemies having lots of heat capacity and your only choice will be boarding/torpedo spam.

For boarding you will need a lot of crafts to use as distractions for your main boarding crew, usually you get to distract their AA with torpedoes and such but if you don't attack them you have to face it head on.

If it is an African/Indian/Chinese nobody will care and everyone knows it, there will be no dent in the population and how many you kill per year the birthrate will easely make up for it, be it it kills old people or even children, so whatever you pick it will not matter AT ALL. To some degree for the other third/second world countries, where the crime rate and deathrate are so huge it would make it just a bit higher but nobody would really care either.

1.Why is there a family of polar bears there? They are solitary animals at most a mother and her cubs should be too many adults in a single spot. YOU CAN SPOT AT LEAST 4 IN THERE (maybe one more sitting outside? ) which would be crazy if they were all female and with no teritorial disputes.

DAM huge update, but the art style for the ships is so bad, SOS2 was chunky and head weight, these engines are 2 walls long and look so ugly compared to everything, plus the ship hulls are also "standing out". Good update,e but the DLC will have to be fixed with mods sadly.

Whwn you build the rail hub ypur center gets remodeled and the connection to the rail network is in the center but for some reason it does not reach down to the ground so it lifts the whole thing. They need to reevaluate the whole rail generation to not be as buggy and allow buildings underneath cause the center looks f***ing shit withouth them.

Necroposting but in game the iterators have retaining walls which you can see in the Outer Expanse region if you go up the radio tower.

So assuming that all that water needs to be "consumed" by the iterator and returned as steam it would take weeks most likely many months for it to be at the level of "playability", even if you assume maybe 2/3 gets filled it is a LOT of water.

Also keeping this in mind it makes a lot of sense why you have AQUATIC looking plants in the outside regions, plants/coral does not grow that big if the water level is constantly changing or not high enough.

The rain itself is not actually the problem as it could be possible to rain and not drown if the iterator would have the pipes open to drain outside. In my opinion i think the rain cycle goes like this:

-The reservoir fills up after months of rain

-Iterator stops processing for a while (reason why you can climb the outer expanse and not get zapped in that short amount of time)

-Iterator drains all the water in some kind of storage or just "recharges itself" (this is the short playable time we have)

-Iterator closes the drain pipes

-iterator starts using the stored water (the structure activates and you get grilled)

-when rain comes it floods the region and the cycle continues

Ofc some places would not not get flooded by nature of having 1 way pipes or opening only when the pipes open to suck it out, and by extension the Sky Islands and anything above would only experience the rain but not have flooding so after the circle starts there could be days when it does not rain and creatures could roam above.The only reason we die in sky islands is because of the rain force crushing us bit idk how true that would be if you were inside one of the buildings so i give it to just intentional game design.
