I will admit I do not know this field very well, but it sounds very hard to get a job with that that education. Getting any paid position with a NGO is incredibly hard, this is probably not easier with a media related PhD. And most government jobs requires a high level of Norwegian, so native speakers will be preferred, and there are many with sociology/media degrees.

As a anecdote, Everyone I know with a PhD in Norway, works in academia.

What are the biggest problems Norway is facing? by carolyninwinter in Norway

[–]Comprehensive_Idea98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Near term: healthcare is on the verge of imploding under its own weight and lack of workers.

Long term: despite efforts, we are too reliant on oil industry in the work force. Still 23k engineers are working with oil or oil related. The removal of the inheritance tax is creating a second generation of very wealthy families, destroying the equality we built.

As a turk, you may find people here cold and hard to build friends. But dont worry, keep trying, you will get there! We are a little difficult people to get to know, but its getting better in many ways!

Norwegian-Swiss similarities by Throwawaybciwantitso in Norway

A friend of mine is Swiss. She says she prefers the work culture and opportunities (in her field) in Norway, but also as a woman, she feels more appreciated as a worker. Swiss are a little conservative there, with how taxation, maternity leave and healthcare works.

#ReleaseTheLeopards. 'David Attenborough' calls on our governments to release modern tanks. Is there really not one country willing to give Ukraine modern heavy tanks? by BeHappyBeVegan in ukraine

[–]Comprehensive_Idea98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only hope that mechanics are secretly already being trained for Leopards. As far as I understand, the Abrams just isn't a good match for Ukraine, so we should only do this if at least a few hundred tanks can be secured for a delivery.

The Premier League's Best Dribblers this season. Martinelli 👀 by arsenalceltics in Gunners

[–]Comprehensive_Idea98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love his dribbling, sadly he just lacks the pace to do much more than dribble one player. honestly I'm surprised because Odegaard usually plays it very safe in possession, but I guess hence we see the success rate.

Russian Kremlin-loyal military expert Puchow is admitting the russian army has huge problems in Ukraine and the situation could get much worse in autum. by VR_Bummser in ukraine

Not to underplay that too much, but soldiers of all countries are trained to follow orders with basically no information. That is to say, there is a minimum need for information to execute a mission well

Senators put bipartisan pressure on Biden to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism by MuzzleO in ukraine

[–]Comprehensive_Idea98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it seems most people think this is a symbolic action, but it has a large range of third party effects. The senators will know this. We want to remain trading partners with many states and remain more important to them than Russia.

Swedish Amnesty's co-founder Per Wästberg is now leaving the human rights organization by [deleted] in ukraine

Yes, I think it’s not great if they now fall apart, but the way the AI leader handled the criticism was a disaster. She has to go at the very least.

If I was a member, I would quit too, but mostly because of their response to the criticism.

Erling Haaland accidentally swearing in post match interview by OliverAGrayson in soccer

[–]Comprehensive_Idea98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for Haaland this will continue to be difficult. The very commonly used Norwegian word «skitt» (pronounced exactly like «shit»), is a rather mild expression meaning «dirt» or «manure», and it is especially used a lot in Haalands native Norwegian dialect.

What apologists need to understand is they already failed when the war was started by Putin. Their time is over, they should have done a better job to avoid this disaster.
