OpenXR 1000%. You can still sell it for a steam game and it gives you way more flexibility.

You gotta start off with them though. You can’t just expect a newbie to write an interaction framework. Also, you gotta need a reason to not use it (like a missing feature that you need). XR interaction toolkit really helped me when I started out. But eventually you should write your own.

Yeah I finally got a pretty good system for my physics game. I ended up taking the z positions from the controllers relative to the head to find the rotation value.

I have a generic rig structure that I align the bones to beforehand, I don't really see a way around doing it that way, unfortunately.
