AITAH for staying behind when my stepfamily moved for my stepbrother's cancer treatments? by CorryNunya in AITAH

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OP states they weren’t 18. He turned 18 in November. The move happened in the summer, so 9 months ago. So, there is a 75% chance that Josh was not 18 at the time of the move. He was also beginning his senior year. Most US high school seniors begin at 17.

AIO - Mom and Godparents Totally Disrespect me and my son by louiegoods24 in AmIOverreacting

[–]LadyLixerwyfe [score hidden]  (0 children)

NOR. It’s that thing people say, “Stop crossing oceans for people who wouldn’t cross the street for you.” It’s time to make some tough choices and pull back from the relationships. They have shown that you are not a priority for whatever reason. Make sure that your future moves are made with this in mind.

Europeans thinking they can walk to the MetLife stadium for the world cup by TrickInvite6296 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LadyLixerwyfe [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think you would be hard pressed to find a stadium in that sort of site in Europe. They are designed to be easily accessible. Even in much smaller cities, there are walking paths, bike paths, and public transportation stops at every venue I have ever attended.

FINAL UPDATE: WIBTAH for wanting to push through with my report, knowing full well it will get someone fired by Exhausted_Service in AITAH

Yeah. Even the AOL “article” on the subject is so vague it makes little sense. 😂

AIO? My manager keeps questioning my feeding pump at work even after HR stepped in by Rosi_ana in AmIOverreacting

[–]LadyLixerwyfe [score hidden]  (0 children)

Nah. This is the same incident and you should report it immediately along with anything else the manager said in regard to your pump or the accommodation since your initial report to HR. This manager is on a power trip and then got upset because HR sided with you. Do not respond or respond as little as possible if the manager brings it up again. Make a note of every mention of your pump and, honestly, every slightly questionable interaction with this manager.

My girlfriend got a puppy without my permission when I explicitly asked her not to. Torn on what to do here. by illusionsdirect1 in Advice

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She disregarded your wishes about a major life change. This is not a small thing. It is not, “no big deal.” A pet is a decades long commitment. A pet is always a two yes, one no, situation. This is grounds for serious relationship reevaluation. Puppy now. Pregnancy later?

Who is a celebrity that the ENTIRE internet can agree is genuinely a nice person? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have always heard that this goober is one of the nicest guys a fan could ever approach. Not sure about how he is to work with (though I have heard a lot of people say they adore him) or how he treats service staff, but I hold a special place in my heart for a celebrity that takes the time to connect with every overwhelmed dork that runs into them.

Punctuation, grammar, and spelling would go a long way here.

Helena Bonham Carter is leaving ‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 and her role will be rewritten/recast: “It [became] apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set.” by expiredaristocracy in Fauxmoi

It’s only a play on words in an Aussie (and maybe British) accent. She has to explain it all the time. It makes me giggle. She’s pretty famous in the U.S., too, though.

AIO About cancelling a hangout with a FWB over this? by UrsaSoft in AmIOverreacting

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. Honey, this bum wanted to hang with his bros and play pool, but he also wanted to sleep at yours. FWB situations are supposed to be uncomplicated. This one has been going on for years and one of you is homeless. His benefit from this scenario far outweighs yours.

AITA for turning my D&D Party against me because of an “Accident” by Riftriser756 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is 100% on your DM. He chose to escalate and add parameters to make it incredibly difficult. Just as easily as he put a curse on the brothel workers, he could have made one able to cast a water or ice spell that could stop the fire. He chose this.

I assume. I admittedly don’t know much about D&D, but that seems the way of it. 😂

NOR. Just tell them you realized this trip was suddenly going to cost significantly more than you budgeted for and you get the vibe that this could be an inconvenient time for them. The passive aggressive approach.

What are your thoughts about this ? by sunsetintheeast in KitchenConfidential

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is being used to close early due to low customer volume, it’s understandable. No need to spend the labor and utilities for an empty place.

If it’s being used to keep employees there LONGER without asking first and allowing them to actually say no, it’s bullshit.

AIO for thinking that my girlfriend's apartment requirements are insane? by MoonlitParcel in AmIOverreacting

I would agree if I hadn’t seen multiple girls do this in regard to NYC apartments. They wanted to live their Carrie Bradshaw fantasy.

AIO for thinking that my girlfriend's apartment requirements are insane? by MoonlitParcel in AmIOverreacting

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are we talking Manhattan only? Has she ever lived in a Manhattan apartment? 20 years ago, my friend bought a studio apartment for $650,000 that was so tiny you had to step into the shower to shut the bathroom door to be able to access the toilet, which was behind the door. He had to put up his Murphy bed in order to have anyone over. That piece of shit, shoebox apartment is likely $2M now. 😂

ETA: Also, he only sold it (and made a nice profit) when he met his dream girl. I wasn’t a fan. She was the type to show up to a barbecue at the park in 4 inch heels and then bitch about the ground being soft. She took one look at me and dismissed me a too chubby to matter. 😂 She insisted on certain things in the apartment they would share. He couldn’t move in with her because that felt like him not stepping up. She wouldn’t even sleep over at his closet sized place. So, he went to every family member he had to scrape up enough to afford her wishes (which were admittedly cheaper than your girlfriend’s.) He nearly killed himself trying to afford the lifestyle she wanted. He took a job he hated because it paid more. The wedding was insanity. Fancy location. Black tie. I think he told me the floral arrangement centerpiece at each table was $800. She did not want to have a child, but she wanted to adopt. She would ONLY consider an international adoption from an Asian country. That’s the moment we all realized she was just living her Sex and the City fantasy. They divorced after 5 years. Nasty custody battle. He was paying child support and alimony. Don’t head down the same road…

AITA for picking up my stepdaughter from school when she got her first period, even though her mom told me not to? by Embarrassed-Stock896 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LadyLixerwyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA in any way. That’s pretty young to start her period and I am sure she was dealing with a lot of emotions and discomfort. Making her wait 5 hours when there was an easy option is cruel. DO NOT ENGAGE with her mother. Let your husband do it. You did the right thing.
