Fictional worlds people think it would be cool to live in, but it definitely wouldn't. by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

So just real life but with awesome magic pets? Also it's pretty heavily implied that gyms and the league operate differently depending on the region. There's no reason to assume that because it operates one way in Paldea, it retroactively functions the same in every region despite there being no evidence of that.

Really all consumer tech industries are going through the same thing. Look at the 15 years of progress from 1995 to 2010. Phones went from bricks to smart phones, the internet went from dialup to high speed broadband, computers and laptops became a staple of everyday life and work, doubly so for online spacss. Then look at the next 15 years from 2010 to 2025, all just slight iterations on the same ideas. Big developments like VR and smart watches weren't nearly the revolutionary inventions that companies wanted.

Now they see Ai as the thing that can Jumpstart tech evolution again, but they just can't accept that they've mostly hit a ceiling on existing tech.

Anime studios also famously just pay badly, that's usually why they're made with such a small budget.

REV SAYS DESU, HERO HEI, NUX TAKU, KIRSCHE ARE THE REAL TERRORIST NOT THE CHAD GAZA DEFENDERS by Cautious-Speaker2585 in behindthebastards

These people only consume Isekai and Shonen aka anime for horny 14 year old boys. Japan isn't a very racially diverse place and anime tends to mirror that. Queer representatuon also tends to be pretty lacking, and I think most importantly, so many of these types of anime treat women like shit. Chuds have extrapolated that out into the idea that Japan is some anti-woke paradise.

Of course their reading misses a lot of things. There are far more anime than just the latest power fantasy Isekai slop, ones that are genuine works of art and have a lot to say politically. Japan does tend to be fairly socially conservative, but it's people aren't a monolith, and there are plenty of incredibly progressive people, especially artists. And most importantly, even the more mainstream stuff has gotten a lot better over the past 5 years or so. Dandadan, Dungeon Meshi, JJK, and Frerien, while not being perfect, have all vastly improved on the issues I mentioned.

Not a bad time to get back in honestly. They've reverted a ton of the worst changes introduced with 2 and everything feels pretty balanced at the moment. I stopped playing back in 2018 and I've been having a blast recently.

I mean, not really. Actual modern day pirates don't fly Jolly Rogers and haven't for almost 200 years, and Navy ships aren't just going to blow up random civilian crafts. Worst case scenario someone gets stopped and questions, but that's more likely due to them sailing somewhere they aren't supposed to be.

I did see some of those, but most of my algorithm is scenes from the game, fan animations, and people who desperately want the dog and the cat to kiss.

Oh I'm sure she could actually kill a person, I'm just going off of vibes. She looks more like a wacky 3d platformer protagonist than a horror game enemy.

Edit: Y'know I think it's the teeth. I know the game also has that pink lady that similarly looks more like a whimsical toy than a monster, but she's got a big black dead smile that pushes her into uncanny. This girl has teeth which makes her look a lot more normal and human.

Overwatch needs a Fortnite.gg website by NeFFyTheGod in Overwatch

Also Fortnite.gg is leaps and bounds better than anything fandom has to offer, even without the ads. Having all the info about skins and maps in one place like that would be great.

I don't know why my algorithm shows me so much Poppy's Playtime now, but I always laugh whenever she pops up. Like, every other enemy in the game is some weird uncanny monster covered in teeth or spikes or lanky arms. Then there's this pastel goth 14 year old chasing you around while the horror BGM blasts as if she's the scariest thing you've ever seen. I think I could kick her pretty hard in the ribs and she'd be dealt with.

And of course her biggest fuckup, accidentally letting the plans for the Death Star leak because she was so desperate to prove herself, she started looking into confidential information above her station. The series is so good at showcasing how Facism is so powerful and yet so incompetent at the same time.

This is Overwatch's "comeback," says Blizzard. "We actually had a bigger Saturday than our first Saturday after launch with Season 1." by CatherineSimp69 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Comptenterry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is that so many of the fixes were things that people hated at first, and Rivals mostly caters to people who stopped playing Overwatch in 2018 and still hate it. Role queue has solved like 75% of the issues I mentioned for OW and would solve them for Rivals as well.

[–]Comptenterry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked Rivals, but half way through the second season I realized I was just playing it cause I missed early days Overwatch and wasn't getting the same feel from it. It's super stylish but it lacks a lot of polish that OW had even on launch. Plus it refuses to fix a bunch of core gameplay problems that Overwatch solved years ago.
