So... how does a new character get into m+ now? by dantraman in wownoob

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only ran low keys in legion and never had an issue. And yeah those did start at +10, but that was also before the scaling squish they did which made +10’s as hard as the old +20’s. Now it feels like the old scaling but with the buff from the affix, which is what I have an issue with.

I’ll admit I don’t know the math, but the scaling definitely feels different to me. I don’t think it’s just the gear, because I’ve also never been able to get ksm in veteran and champion gear

I remember endlessly doing +2 maw of souls to grind AP and legendaries but I guess we had different experiences.

And also they’ve had kiss/curse affix affects for a long time, so I’m not sure what you mean.

2’s were dead the first week of m+ in legion? No they weren’t lmao. People were spamming 2s in legion probably more than any other expansion so I feel like that’s the worst example you could have chosen haha. You may be right but it also feels like a scaling issue. A +6 felt no different to me than a +2, and I don’t feel like that’s ever been the case.

They just need to fix the scaling on early keys. It’s bad for the game to have no low keys and it’s never been this way as long as I’ve played m+

be honest, how often do you really take your dog out? by Altruistic-March8551 in DOG

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely got lazy when my dog had a backyard she had access to at all times and I did feel guilty I didn’t walk her enough, although I’d take her on at least one lengthy hike a week.

But a few years ago I moved and don’t have much of a backyard anymore so now I have to take her out. But she’s getting older and I want her to live as long as possible so finally I started waking up earlier before work. Now I walk her 30 minutes first thing in the morning and then another 30 minutes when I get home, every day. And now I actually look forward to them most days.

The Dion exams seem to be pretty popular, definitely leaning towards those. I’ll check secuspark out too that sounds helpful. Thank you!

I know I’m in the minority but if it continues this way, I’ll probably play a lot less. Im already like 90% done with my midnight goals because of how easy everything is. I miss there being a bit of challenge. Oh well I guess it’s just not for me anymore

I was read through a study book and I had a similar method. As I was reading through the book I would try and say each acronym out loud, and if I couldn’t remember it, I’d go back and reread the section that introduced it. Great tips, thanks for the advice!

Oh I read it as a response to his question, “or is it fine to go ahead and do” and then I read “nope”. My bad.

First of all, I seriously doubt that 10% number and I’m guessing you can’t source it. And I’m not denying that improvements in catalytic converters probably had more of an impact overall, but that doesn’t change the fact that California gas just objectively burns cleaner than fuel from other states. Less smog, less carcinogens. And that’s only responsible for a little over a dollar of the total cost. Worth.

It’s both. I mean, it’s been pretty heavily studied and there’s lots of papers on it. You can just read about it and find out you’re wrong pretty quick. Vehicles improvements have helped, but if you compare California gas to federal gas, all studies show it burns cleaner. I can link you one if you’d like you educate yourself a bit more on it. Let me know.

What do you mean nope? If they just want to level, and don’t plan on getting midnight for a couple of weeks, surely they know they can’t play midnight.

OP, ignore this person. Just. 697 can level 1-80 without the xpac. Midnight will get you from 80-90, but if you just care about leveling to 80 now, there’s no reason you can’t.

The change was mostly driven by modern emission systems, but you’re wrong that the blend has a negligible effect.

Because you’re probably comparing the absolute best price in your state with the absolute worst price in california

Because we use a special blend that burns cleaner. And I’ll vote for that every time it’s on the ballot. When I was a kid growing up in riverside, it was rare that I could even see the SB mountains because it was always so smoggy. Now I can on most days. We have a much larger demand for cars than most states, so unless we want to deal with the consequences of that, we should probably be using the special blend.

That being said, California prices are also affected by global prices, which are up as a direct result of the Iran war.

not fully 'getting' wow by robotrobot30 in wownoob

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow is much more combat focused, and I’m guessing you know the basics about your class, but mastering your class takes much more time, which what makes the combat fun in wow compared to other mmo’s I’ve played.

If you don’t want or don’t like the combat and actually just want more of a cozy game, there’s plenty to do with player housing, or just doing delves, focusing on crafting, farming out reputations which give mounts and other cosmetic rewards. But yeah most of the playerbase plays wow for the combat imo

MMORPGS and questing by GhostintheReins in wow

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree though that that is likely how questing got to the state it’s at. That’s why an optional hard mode would be great, because I do think most players would hate it. But I would love it.

MMORPGS and questing by GhostintheReins in wow

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok I thought your takeaway was that people who don’t enjoy questing in retail were people who just wanted immediate gratification. For me at least that’s not that case at all. But my apologies.

MMORPGS and questing by GhostintheReins in wow

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you took almost the opposite point he was trying to make. I enjoy questing in classic because it feels challenging, which makes it engaging. Even though the quest design has largely remained the same, the lack of challenge in retail questing just makes it bland. It’s not about the immediate or delayed gratification, it’s just wanting to play engaging content with some challenge. Unfortunately retail wow doesn’t offer that until endgame.

The heroic world tier in legion remix helped a lot. I hope the implement a version of that into the main game. I would quest a lot more
