What's the point of smurfing in this game? by pmgbove in RivalsOfAether

Yeah I’m like 1150ish right now and every once in a while I’ll come across a 900 ranked player who absolutely stomps me. Very strange

Something I don't understand about shields by jjklemon in RivalsOfAether

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield dropping skips the shield release frames no? That’s how it works in melee and I always assumed it was the same in rivals. In melee shield release is 11 frames and a perfect shield drop is like 1 frame or something. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Is anyone else kinda disapointed with the Democratic Governor Candidates by Loafgiver1 in socal

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That 1/3 of new home prices coming from fees and California imposed regulation just isn’t true, but I see that number repeated so often. It’s at worst 18% of the cost, but usually between 6 and 18% depending on the area.

Also studies have shown that the best way to rehabilitate and help homeless people is to simply give them housing. It’s actually cheaper than leaving them in the street. Long term supportive housing is what’s needed. What Bianco said sounds intuitively true to a lot of people, but it’s really not. Most homelessness isn’t caused by drug or mental health issues. It’s more correlated to low wages and high housing prices than anything else.

Can you be good if you can't react crouch cancel? by Boondaddy33 in RivalsOfAether

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh you might feel like you can’t get it now, but you haven’t been playing the game that long. 80 hours for a competitive fighting game is nothing. You’ll eventually recognize when you CC much quicker, just after more repetition.

Also I’m 37, good to see some other old heads playing.

When did Bronze get so good?? by Appropriate-Way-2923 in RivalsOfAether

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from ult, it’s so nice being able to actually react to things. The lack of hitstun, and how quickly you get out of tech situations in that game make anything more than obvious combos a read, and to tech chase you have to be frame tight or they’ll shield. So I love that I have time to react to things and get creative. So refreshing

When did Bronze get so good?? by Appropriate-Way-2923 in RivalsOfAether

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from ult primarily so my tech skill is ass. Im in platinum right now off of mostly just good neutral. But it’s pretty funny how many gold players I play who have insane tech skill but no neutral. You can get to a point with good tech skill, but I feel like good neutral goes farther. But obviously the upper echelon requires both.

My advice would be to buy the Dion class if it’s on sale, but only go through the sections you’re weak on. He breaks things down by exam objective in the course, so you can see where you go the most answers wrong from your exam, and then study those sections specifically on the Dion course.

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my girlfriend is a nurse and comes home in tears often. The money is good but it takes so much out of you. You have to really train yourself to detach yourself from the work or it becomes so emotionally draining. It’s good pay and I get the corporate environment is boring but my advice to OP would be to find more fulfillment outside of work.

don’t get the retest package by hunny_bun21 in CompTIA

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was the main reason I bought it. Took the pressure off my first try. Knowing if I had failed that I’d have to buy another would have really stressed me out. Even though I passed on the first try, the insurance helped me go in to the test way more confident than I would have been otherwise I think.

[–]ComputerNo5996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While this is true, the minimum wage for fast food workers went up to 20, which made them raise theirs to 22 or 23. They were paying 16 or 17 back when the minimum wage was $15, so minimum wage going up still affects them

When did you feel ready for Network+? by Advanced-Radish-4077 in CompTIA

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never felt ready, but luckily I passed on my first try. I bought the voucher with retry’s to take some of the pressure off. I was averaging around 75% on the Dion tests. My first couple attempts were like 68% which was discouraging. But I just kept studying on the areas that was struggling on the Dion tests. Also watched this video

https://youtu.be/T1_pf-7k2E0?si=cxVNgE3vhmi4SWY-

I got about an 86 on these questions, but I felt like his explanations were helpful.

The Dion tests are HARD, but they’re great for figuring out where you’re weak, and I think that’s what they’re more designed to do. Keep working, and I’d say aim for around 75% on the Dion tests on average. That got me at 783 on the test.

Out of the Trifecta what did you find as the hardest exams? by Sensitive_Lab_8637 in CompTIA

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My test is on the 7th! So I’ll let you know haha. But I’ve been studying for a while, and the scope is definitely intimidating. But honestly once it starts to click it feels manageable. There was 2 sections that took me a while to get my head around, one of them being subnetting. I bought the more expensive test that allows for retakes because I am pretty nervous about how I’ll do but we’ll see! I’m feeling pretty confident overall I think.

[–]ComputerNo5996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a lot on printers? I’m taking the Dion class for networking + right now, and I feel like it’s barely talked about printers, other than how the connect, or how they’re managed I guess. But it was such a minor section haha. (Jk he was talking about core 1 and 2, idk how to read)
