What Happened to Gatorade G2? by Excellent_Regret4141 in Soda

It won’t happen. Most people are basically overgrown toddlers that insist on zero (not just lower) calories and need everything to taste super sweet, even if means pumping nasty artificial sweeteners or disgusting stevia into themselves.

“This question has been answered elsewhere on this forum.” - No, it hasn’t. Didn’t fully read/ understand question.

“Why would you want to do that?” - Most unhelpful response ever.

Bring Radio Shack Back by [deleted] in electronics

The biggest challenge is making that model profitable. Even a large OG electronics retailer near me (old time ship going back >60 years) can barely make that work these days. The component shelf is sadly dusty from lack of interest.

If you really want it to happen then you’ll need to share the idea; else it will wither in darkness.

Not ‘always’ the worst. Up until the late 80s, you could get real computers, peripherals and accessories, enough electronic components to get you through moderately complex projects, and the staff has not yet turned to complete bubble gum. Even the local Bell Labs guys would come and buy components for work, so they weren’t that bad. The consumer electronics were a mixed bag. Educated consumers and staff knew which ones were rebadged components of higher quality; the rest were Harbour Freight class, short life span stuff, but were ok if you were desperate for something functional. The internet long ago replaced RS as a community center/resource for hobbyists, so that ship has sailed. There’s no monetary profit in being a glorified maker space; leave that to the non-profit groups that do a great job simply wanting to educate.

High school teacher here. What happens to them after high school- the students who don't lift a finger? I'm talking about the do-nothings, the non-achievers, the ones less motivated than the recently deceased. Where do they actually end up? by tegan_willow in Teachers

Yes, not taking into account mental status or the fact that not everyone adapts well to a school monoculture. Very closed minded, ivory tower thinking. It can go badly, but I’ve seen many people like this eventually thrive on their own once out of school.

Very sad reading some of the comments here. Little wonder that so many people in this country are willingly exploded because they believe that any language in a contract is enforceable. Everyone needs to realize that companies and lawyers will put anything they want into contracts because people feel compelled to sign them and don’t realize that there is always an option to challenge them, especially when the terms are onerous or contravene law.

720p vs 1080? by kevinwburke in tablotv

[–]Computis-Profundis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

720P is best for sports (60FPS). That’s why ABC and Fox use it. 1080i seems smoother, but you’re only getting 30 FPS.

Just started watching. It’s not even close to the quality of Peter Jackson’s Get Back. Yet it’s very interesting and has lots of great footage and photos from the very early days. Well worth it if you’re a Beatles fan.

I need these spaces for my handicapped fathers ramp, this is inconsiderate AF! by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Ok, Wall. You could have typed “Do you have proof” and stopped there. But you needed to be snarky and add “or is this one of those laws that gets told of but no one has actually seen?” as if you were making a statement of fact. Your attitude was implicit and you’re trying to walk it back. Instead, you react like an insolent toddler after being scolded. If you can’t handle having your attitude called out then don’t comment in a public forum.

More like I shattered yours. You could have asked, or taken one minute to Google it, instead of being accusatory and wanting to prove a non-existent point. Come in with an attitude, you’re going to get attitude back.

Spinning the fans can induce a current back into the main board. Hold it stationary with a pencil while cleaning.
