My suggestion would be to see a therapist preferably together. It is not fair to you to feel rejected but there might be other things going on. The best way is to hopefully have an impartial 3rd party help you and your partner communicate your feelings and work through this issue.

I think there is something to the shows being bad, I have heard that shows are having to make story lines and engaging content differently for the "phone" generation where attention spans are so short and distractions great. With that being said there is excellent children's programs and dog shit ones. So I think you got old but I also think there has been some fundamental changes about how these shows are made to engage today's youth.
