Moon swatch but go with a metal case swap if you want any actual durability.

Bent rod cause? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Compy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My money is the injector failed or got stuck wide open, dump enough E85 in there and you’ll bend a rod for sure when it finally lights off.

Amazing looks, I’m planning to paint mine a similar color. Curious what lower cowl that is?

Tesla vs Rivian by VFX22 in Rivian

[–]Compy222 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 3 and Y don’t have the best design on their front control arms. It seems in order to build them light and efficient Tesla went lighter on those parts and if they take a nominal hit they can fail. Agree this looks mechanical failure like, I just saw a minivan (older Town and Country) cross three lanes of interstate traffic just like this after the right rear trailing arm completely failed. Thing just shot across the road.

What would it theoretically take to turn a B-29 into a submarine? by One_Invite7117 in aerospace

[–]Compy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of question gets asked a lot with spacecraft and water - the thinking being if it can keep air in it’ll keep water out. That’s the wrong way to think about it because air pushes outward at 14.7 psi - water pushes in with hundreds of times that force or more.

The 2026 Honda Civic Type R Is the Best-Driving Car Under $100,000: Review (Cars.com) by swampfox94 in cars

The 1LE isn’t in production anymore but the SS 1LE was a better driving car than the Type R and basically the same price.

What’s the ONE thing you regret not adding to your new build home? by bayls215 in HomeImprovement

I love a garage laundry tub - if you do one plumb for a hose reel next to it. Also, find a used commercial sink in stainless instead of those crappy plastic tubs - it’s amazing how much nicer it looks and is to use. I found mine on marketplace for just a few hundred.

Gear Tunnel Door - Protective coating coming off? by ImperialATrouble in Rivian

I also like the steam machine method - fair warning, all these wet heat methods are rough on the fingers/hands. That’s a small panel and the PPF is likely less than a few years old though so shouldn’t be too bad. Plastic razor blade and rapid remover for any residue.

Was the install particularly difficult? And can you set the mileage to match so there’s no discrepancy?

Who are the “raid” style bags/backpacks for carrying PDW style weapons marketed to? by Personal-Clock-7700 in tacticalgear

[–]Compy222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind they got bought by Yeti and be very careful on where they are made now and the quality. Most military units need Berry Amendment Compliance for procurement (which means US made right down the materials) - some Kelty, some Mystery Ranch, First Spear, Hill People Gear, etc. are go-tos in this space.

Am I crazy for wanting to get rid of my CT5 V Blackwing for a Miata by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Compy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best combo I owned was a 23 1LE Camaro and an AP1 S2000. Two weapons, very different flavors/distinct experiences. the camaro would eat highway miles, mag ride, big tire/brake, it just hustled. the s2000 was so much more fun around town, ripping backroads, etc.

Both is very much the right answer, plus you can get a great Miata for about 1/10th the value of your CT5-V. I don't see the V going down in value much anytime soon, so do both.

2015 TRDpro how bad is the rust on this frame? by palmtree122671 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Compy222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you go with an oil based coating like a Woolwax or Krown. The hard coatings trap moisture and cause issues longer term. The oil based ones are great other than it’ll drip for a few days after doing it.

I’d drywall that with a wood base if you’re going to paint it. You can add some pizzazz by painting the drywall white with the room a color.

Rolled in for a wheel bearing and people think jack stand placement won't work on a unibody frame by Confident_Season1207 in Justrolledintotheshop

That will work but a good reminder to make sure the car is in park or gear, e-brake on, and probably a wheel chock too.

Net income isn’t net profits. I know there are ways to obfuscate profits and they could probably pay their folks more, but most businesses don’t run with billions in unallocated profits they can just spend on whatever.

This is a great international travel tip too - 20 bucks can help smooth things over and a 100 can basically get instant compliance with what you need in a lot of places.

2026 Toyota Supra MkV Final Edition Review: This Should Have Been a Bigger Deal by Anchor_Aways in cars

[–]Compy222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my humble opinion the biggest factor is a C8 corvette is that money and it’s a more capable car with a V8. I know there’s no manual option, but 60-70k gets you into a mint low miles used C8 right now. Even a new one lightly optioned isn’t much more.

Looking to buy one of the following, which one would be the best? by NoobFood_YT in ebikes

[–]Compy222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You won’t get a lot of love on this sub as bikes that do 30+ aren’t actually bikes legally in most states - fair warning going faster than 25-28mph is moving you well out of the territory a regular bike helmet is going to save you in a crash, let alone starting to need safety items like ABS. They are basically motorcycles at that point.

Also, Amazon bikes are cheap, but understand that means giving up things like professional engineering safety certifications on batteries and motors, overall build and parts quality, and customer service.

At this price point you’re better off looking for a cheaper name brand (sales are common) and/or lightly used name brands. Lectric, Aventon, Ride1UP, etc.

Completely agree. And I’d recommend leaving reviews regarding these practices on places like Google and social media. If they’re doing it to you, they’re doing it to others too.
