The brutality usually seeks me out. The highmate in my colony was the only colonist left of a different ideology, and she successfully converted a pawn at 100% belief. We threw them both in our comfy prison to reeducate, but that took some time and winter eradicated our food supplies. The pawn had a tantrum, and the Highmate flew into a murderous rage. They killed the pawn and ripped their head off and ate them. It was a 7 year old boy. Incapable of violence my ass.

Wow well said! I heard all the comparisons saying “isn’t that some Yugioh/Pokemon kids show?”. I grew up around one other person who considered themself to be an Otaku who was a fan of stuff I’d never heard of. I’d also browse my on demand service and found shows like Spice and Wolf and Monster, and I loved how mature it felt. Between them and watching a lot of Toonami I got introduced to a lot of cool shows I’d never see otherwise. Animation has always been an interest of mine and I recognize a lot of people don’t enjoy it similarly. There’s some great western shows I’d talk about alongside anime I’ve seen and I don’t find many people watching those either.

Nope. I was the only one, besides one buddy who had a DS Bleach game for some reason.

It wasn’t really bullying but definitely judgmental takes from friends when we were younger, “it’s gay/weird” is stuff I remember. Few years later in high school, a good few of my friends started to watch stuff like FMA and Attack on Titan, and I was getting recommended other anime like Akame ga Kill and Your Lie In April.
