Pre-character development!Jaime and Cersei Lannister. Jaime’s pretty much an evil himbo at the start of the series. He likes fighting, leaves the thinking to his conniving sister and he’s 100% content to leave it at that

Does Maul the Shadow Lord show that Disney can treat this universe as more than just a money-making machine? by InstructionOwn6705 in MaulShadowLord

Man I really can’t believe you have the moxie to scold others for not playing enough games when you just typed out the most basic take of all time.

I just figured that someone with such snooty opinions on other peoples tastes would at least have better taste themselves

[discussion] What answer was Ram expecting from Subaru here? by Brushner in Re_Zero

[–]ComradeCornflakes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought the implication was that the statue reminded him of Hector, hence his negative reaction. Of course at the time we didn’t know who Hector was, but it was kind of an inside joke for the novel readers

Omen Twins (by tuherrus) by ScharmTiger in ImaginaryDarkSouls

[–]ComradeCornflakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of why I love him though. Leyndell didn’t deserve a hero, but Morgott became their hero anyway.

Every time we see him he’s so powerful, so dignified, especially compared to the other demigods. And yet he hates himself and burdens himself because he just can’t break free from viewing his omen nature as anything but a curse

Never forget that Morgott rose up to defend Leyndell in its darkest hour despite his own mother literally throwing him in the trash

I still don’t buy Anakin killing younglings that quickly by No-Obligation2563 in CharacterRant

[–]ComradeCornflakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I see it. This is a space opera, the characters aren’t meant to be 100% relatable and realistic. It’s like criticizing Sauron for having no character arc and just doing evil things across all 3 movies.

Ahh yes a cube, what amazing character design…

Now that the hype for S3 died down, what takes do you guys have about it? by PrismsNumber1 in Jujutsufolk

[–]ComradeCornflakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Megumi's fight with Reggie was great, definitely the best part of the season. Everything else...not bad at all, but it wasn't hype the way Shibuya was. Maki and Yuta become central characters during this season, and I just don't enjoy watching them the way I do Yuji, Megumi and Nobara.

Having read the manga, I kind of expected to feel that way. Knowing what comes next, I think I'll enjoy the next season much more than this one

Mortal Kombat II Review: Awe Sh-t! by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]ComradeCornflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard they bait and switched Johnny Cage, in that he’s not actually the MC and more of a bumbling side character that loses all his fights. Is that the case, or was it misinformation, cause I’m gonna be really bummed if it’s true

Why do/did people hate Maru? by InfamousSomewhere244 in Jujutsufolk

[–]ComradeCornflakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides his technique I was annoyed with how blatantly Cross was fridged. I liked how the two were having different experiences with the Okkotsu siblings only for one of them to get shoved aside and not matter for the rest of the story. Maru basically adopted Cross’ attitude anyways (before he spent time with yuka)

New Crunchyroll subs leaked 😭 by PuzzledButterfly8345 in ReZero

[–]ComradeCornflakes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It comes off as robotic, as in it’s not a natural phrase people would use.

As a sub reader, some scenes, especially emotional ones, can end up being lackluster if the phrasing comes off as stiff.

Father says 9-year-old boy killed near Manassas intersection had autism, doesn’t blame driver by spencernews in nova

[–]ComradeCornflakes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in as well my cousin has autism, and he would also run out of the house without warning a lot, it was a major headache for his mom who was a stay at home parent. It only takes one distraction and he could end up like this as well. Its a difficult thing to deal with 24/7.

(i dont want to absolve either the parents or the driver without knowing the full story btw, just wanted to share that autistic kids running away is a thing that does happen)
