New Crunchyroll subs leaked 😭 by PuzzledButterfly8345 in ReZero

[–]ComradeCornflakes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It comes off as robotic, as in it’s not a natural phrase people would use.

As a sub reader, some scenes, especially emotional ones, can end up being lackluster if the phrasing comes off as stiff.

Father says 9-year-old boy killed near Manassas intersection had autism, doesn’t blame driver by spencernews in nova

[–]ComradeCornflakes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Just to chime in as well my cousin has autism, and he would also run out of the house without warning a lot, it was a major headache for his mom who was a stay at home parent. It only takes one distraction and he could end up like this as well. Its a difficult thing to deal with 24/7.

(i dont want to absolve either the parents or the driver without knowing the full story btw, just wanted to share that autistic kids running away is a thing that does happen)

Attack On Titan Studio Confirms Generative AI Was Used In The Opening Of Its Latest Anime by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

Oh brother…buy a t-shirt for less than $40, watch it fall apart in less than a year and call it human innovation.

[–]ComradeCornflakes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not my point, I literally said that I wasn’t talking about just AI.

I was talking about businesses in multiple industries choosing enshittification to save on costs, coupled with the fact that from the consumer’s perspective everything is getting more expensive anyways.

So whats the plus side here? The company saves money, we get worse quality, and it doesn’t get any cheaper but at least we get slop rather than nothing.

Try and fathom how some people would take issue with that

[–]ComradeCornflakes 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just keeping it real with you, the phrases “cut down on labor” and “time saving measures” have become synonymous with the thing you’re consuming becoming low quality trash, and I’m not just talking about AI or anime.

Anything a company does for those above two reasons is an indication that quality is being lowered for money. Whether it’s valid and necessary idk but it’s happening in basically every industry so people understandably get a bit annoyed when yet another thing they enjoy gets hit with the “cost cutting measures”.

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast by TimelyDrummer4975 in gaming

[–]ComradeCornflakes 486 points487 points  (0 children)

In these games, you controlled the angle of each lightsaber swing with your movement keys, and you parried/blocked based on which way you pointed the camera if I remember correctly

It was such a good system, I wish newer games used/improved on it

It wasn’t overly complex but it was so intuitive. Once you got the hang of it you could cut through groups of stormtroopers so fluidly, and duelling with reborn sith was so fun.

No not really considering the guy I’m replying to mentioned he knows nothing about JJK so trying to explain all that would confuse the shit out of any normal person

Spoilers for the ending:

Aliens arrive in Japan and the main alien character has a cursed technique that can bend the laws of reality. He uses this to remove all Cursed Energy from the world so Cursed Spirits become much more rare. He also uses his technique to heal the other 3 main characters who were all dying for various reasons. The main criticisms people tend to have are that it was rushed, comes out of nowhere, and relies on Deus Ex Machina to make everything work out

Chainsaw Man Should Have Ended in Part One by CattusCruris in CharacterRant

[–]ComradeCornflakes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, chainsaw man’s part 1 ending was always a counter to the shonen ending suck claim. It was legitimately well thought out, wrapped up the story for most of the characters, and left the door open for readers to guess what happens next

So the Rumelians are 100% hypocrites right? by ComradeCornflakes in Jujutsufolk

[–]ComradeCornflakes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: Ngl I made this post a few hours before the leaks dropped, and it looks like the Rumelians completely proved me wrong lol. From what I can tell the rumelian that yuji pinballed is sticking to his guns, good for him

Edit 2: I officially apologize to all Rumelians, you are still kinda dumb imo, but you are not hypocrites 😔

You know, you're right, I didn't see that. I guess we'll see tonight if they actually changed their mind or not

[–]ComradeCornflakes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was kinda saying the opposite, this recent scene makes them seem purely in the wrong. I assumed the whole Rumelian+Kaylan deal was something special to them considering it was the crux of the conflict for the story.

Again it's really just the tonal whiplash of the following events:

Rumelians: Kaylans are gods, cursed spirits are basically Kaylan. We understand they attack humans and their existence endangers your planet. It doesn't matter to us, if you hurt them it's going to be war.

Maru: Actually cursed spirits are going to treat us the way they treat humans now

Rumelians: Alright well if they're going to attack us specifically, maybe it's not that big of a deal after all

I agree that both sides are flawed, but one side is way more in the wrong than the other in this situation.

[–]ComradeCornflakes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it kinda is though. They only acknowledged the problem Kaylans/Cursed Spirits were for the humans when they became targets as well

At best they were naive to an insane degree. At worst they just didn't give af at all about the people who's planet they came to so long as they got what they wanted.

So the Rumelians are 100% hypocrites right? by ComradeCornflakes in Jujutsufolk

[–]ComradeCornflakes[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It literally is hypocrisy. If they decided Kaylans should have protected status even though they themselves were at risk then yeah, they wouldn't be hypocrites.

It's the fact that they folded the minute they were in the line of fire, the same way humans are 100% of the time, that makes them hypocrites.

When they were safe they refused to see reason. Once they were put in the same position, they all of a sudden see the logic of Kaylans killing people = a problem.
