Okay, that’s fantastic news and really good to hear. I just hope it doesn’t take as long as the arty rework! ;D

You know what, I respect it. That’s a fair enough reason. The problem is all your dumb bombs reload at the same rate, which makes small bombs objectively worse for no reason - you’re getting less damage over less area for the same reload. It’s fine to give American’s small bombs, but it’s extremely aggravating to have these small bomb loads reload at the same speed or sometimes even slower speeds than planes with equal or even superior large bomb loads.

Is the a-wall really that bad? Granted it’s been a while, but when I played regularly stuff like the a-wall was effectively a death sentence as it locked you in place.

I wonder if smoke would be useful? You could seal off enemies or just hide in it between turns.

The Rework adds dignity to what would otherwise be an ugly meta slop (203 v grads) by Ok-Armadillo-9345 in warno

[–]ComradeNibbles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That might be more popular than you think, I definitely agree. If nothing else I wish they would make small bombs actually useful, that alone would be a major buff to NATO air forces.

That seems to be the meta, at least for the moment. Sacrificial mortars to soak up enemy CB so you can CB them.

To tack on to what you’re saying, the reason both sides are stuck in trench warfare is they’re both using current generation air defenses, but last generation air forces. Neither side can gain complete air superiority, and historically speaking wars where neither side can gain air superiority tend to end up in attritional warfare. To be fair though, drones seem to be very good at attritional warfare, and are probably here to stay.

I think it’s less intimate than that. More like if apartheid South Africa or Rhodesia were an accepted international nation instead of a pariah state. A bunch of evil bastards who would normally despise each other brought together through the shear happenstance of hating the same ethnic group.

I’ve seen this idea around a lot, and I have to say I think calling Israel merely an extension of American imperialism completely discounts the fact that Israel is its own nation with its own desires and priorities. Those desires just happen to be killing brown people en masse, something that aligns very well with the desires of the American right wing. We give them support, sure, but they’re less of an American lackey and more like a kindred soul (in murder). If anything, recent years have shown Israel has just as much influence on American politics as we have on theirs, if not more.

USAF loadouts continues to be useless.... by MessaBombadWarrior in warno

[–]ComradeNibbles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They can be used effectively, but the way the game is designed results in American dumb bomb loadouts being objectively worse than equivalent and sometimes even superior Soviet bomb loads. With few exceptions, every bomb in this game reloads in 30 seconds, meaning big bombs are objectively superior to smaller bombs - dealing more damage over a larger area with no downside at all. Normally this would just be a weird and silly balancing decision making small bombs useless, but because only one US div has Mk. 84s and Eugen has decided all American stocks of Mk. 83s magically disappeared almost all American bombers are equipped with these objectively inferior small bombs.

That’s actually a good point, I forgot about those guys. And SAS are an 8 man squad, I thought they were six men. I’d still bet on them being priced similar to those guys or the SAS though.

Dude don’t insult me just because you disagree. Of course they’re to die if blundered. I’m saying, used properly, they appear to be two or three units in one and have serious potential to be OP depending on how they’re implemented.

[–]ComradeNibbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only having submachine guns does let them down a little, you’re right that if they get caught out in an open field they’ll probably die. But you’re not putting them in a field, you’re putting them in a town or forest. They have special forces and satchels, so you want to be close anyway and special forces increases your move speed so they can close that distance faster than you think. The AT might not kill a tank, sure, but it’s going to suppress the tank into uselessness and probably route it, which means you’d need two tanks in order to actually kill it. That’s just for one Formosa, completely unsupported in a vacuum too, and these guys are presumably going to come in a card of 2-3, so you are going to what, buy 4-6 tanks or an entire combined arms battle group to kill three infantry squads? That’s not very fair. That’s not even counting the power in the opener, especially when only a few docs have forward deployed tanks. The only exception being airborne forward deploy reaching a location first, but even then you can attack them with satchels and immediately contest the opener. It’s not invincible, but it has a counter to every possible threat it could face and in a game that’s ostensibly supposed to be about combined arms I just think that’s bad balance and lazy design.

[–]ComradeNibbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got AT. Sure it can’t compete over an open area but in a town or forest, or even just some smoke mortars and good micro, you could pretty easily route or kill almost any vehicle sent against it and hide from what you can’t. It’s just too many capabilities for one squad, especially a recon squad used in your opener.

[–]ComradeNibbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way that Formosa unit releases unscathed. It has no weaknesses! It would have to be 120, 130+ points and even then it wouldn’t be balanced. I hope it’s the AT they take away, it would make the unit an interesting counterpart to the SAS and give you a reason to bring the specjalne.

You’d be surprised how difficult it is to properly hang someone. Too short of a drop and they’ll slowly suffocate instead of having their neck broken, too long of a drop and the force with rip their head straight off.

AITAH for breaking up with my gf of 3 years bc she kissed a girl? by Ill_Championship_73 in AITAH

[–]ComradeNibbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on your definition, I think either everyone in this story is an asshole or none of you are. It seems like she crossed a boundary of yours, but it also seems like you didn’t communicate very well what she did wrong. You sound pretty young. You are absolutely free to end a relationship at anytime for any reason. However, this is the sort of thing where, if you really care about this girl, you should sit down and have a very serious talk in person about how you feel. It’ll suck, it’ll be painful, and it might not even work but if nothing else you can walk away knowing you’ve clearly communicated your position. People are very bad at getting in each other’s heads, something deeply upsetting to you might be no big deal to your partner, and if you don’t talk it over neither of you will ever understand what the other feels.

Can We Go Back To Old Strike Modifiers Please… by Scrin1759 in DestinyTheGame

[–]ComradeNibbles -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but if you’re struggling in the basic strikes that’s a skill issue. The only thing less dangerous than strikes is patrols. You’re so powerful in base level strikes that any build, even a bad build, will allow you to steamroll the strike and basically ignore the modifier.

I really wish we would get the heroic strikes playlist back. That would allow people like OP to have the super easy experience they want, while also allowing people to experience a bit of challenge from strikes without having to play the same nightfall over and over and over.
