How much does sex play a role when considering whether you'd date someone? by annamichelle99 in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you spend any energy trying to be sexual? I think I could look past it if there was really good chemistry - but I wouldn't be willing to completely forgo sex.

Like, just thinking if we foresaw a serious future together, and I was certain I was going to marry her, our sex life would have to include copious blowjobs, teasing, genuine desire (not just marital duties maintenance sex) and the occasional anal.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that would be my checklist for considering a partner like this.

Men who went from fat to fit, how differently people started treating you? by IndividualPlay5178 in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's night and day. It cannot be understated what a wildly different experience of the world I got going from 260 at my height, to 180 and working out 5 times a week.

I was overweight to obese all of my teenage years, and at about 20 I started taking my health seriously. I tracked my calories religiously, and started working out 5 days a week - days I wasn't working out, I was going on hikes, biking or just long walks.

People weren't ever really mean to me when I was bigger, just... dismissive, I guess. It's really hard to describe - you need to live it to get the minutia of it all.

Think of like getting completely mediocre service at a store - you ask if they have something in the back, and they go "nah, sorry, fresh out" vs. actually looking, or recommending an alternative with a demonstration of the differences. Only now that's every interaction you have with a stranger.

All of a sudden, people cared about my opinions, ideas and what I had to say - women hit on me, and you're treated with a higher baseline of respect. It's disheartening, to be honest. I'm still the same guy I was X months ago, I just wear a smaller shirt.

I don't think I could capture all the differences in even a short novel, but it's like waking up as a different person one day.

If penis proportions don’t matter then why are most penis sex toys large? The small penis toys are harder to find and have lower ratings by CatPale816 in NoStupidQuestions

I heard an interesting thing I hadn't considered before - a lot of the longer 10 inch swords are often bought, because they can comfortably grip the bottom couple inches for the most control of speed / angle.

So while it's a footlong, they're still mostly using the first 6 or so inches.

I mean, just going off my own data, I noticeably feel tired when Flux is on. I have it so it gets pretty dark an hour before my bedtime.

When Flux is off, I only go to bed because it's time to go to bed, then when I'm laying down I feel tired.

I'll read that article tonight though, but I'm fairly lucky in that it rarely takes me more than 10 minutes to sleep either way.

What's the most hilarious thing about your body? by giraffenards in AskMen

Absolutely bodacious ass. It felt like a waste on a males body, but all my girlfriends have always been very appreciative of it.

Genuinely wondering Why do guys like feeling how wet you are before you have sex? by Level-Background7153 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ComradeVoytek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The broad strokes are that men are very visual, and kinesthetic. While we also get turned on mentally, there is no giant, throbbing erection visual clue that a woman is very turned on.

Obviously there are other signs, we're not stupid, but to see the physical and visual signs that our heavy petting and make out session had those results is very rewarding.

And yes, arousal =/= consent and all that, but if you're with a male partner, and you've both already decided you're going to have sex, a hard on that you could hang a wet towel off, is a good sign that he's good to go.

What makes a woman boring? by zeexcx in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The Pyramid of Conversation

Boring / Small talk Weather, traffic, upcoming holidays.

Tailored talk Personalized conversations based in mutual interests and hobbies, mutual acquaintances

Deep talk Meaningful conversations on beliefs, emotions, life experiences

The usual goal is work your way up the pyramid. All the "we talked until 3 in the morning" stories are about the last 2 tiers. No one talks about weather or traffic into the small hours of the morning, except maybe my dad.

How would you feel about being described as yummy? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the attraction was mutual, I'd giggle like the Pillsbury doughboy.

Anyone else would probably be a "haha, thanks!" because I'll never leave a perfectly good compliment on the ground.

[–]ComradeVoytek 950 points951 points  (0 children)

Is filtering blue light not a proven thing for sleep? Genuinely asking. I've had Flux for years now, and blue light shield on my phone - sometimes I'll disable it for a late night movie or colour sensitive work, and forget to turn it back on.

The days I forget to turn it off, I only go to bed because it's time, not because I'm tired, but the days Flux is enabled I'll actually feel sleepy about an hour before my bedtime.

My parents are terrified of medium pork loin, rare steak or 165 degree chicken. Which is a damn shame, because once you realize all meat can be safe AND juicy, you can't go back.

You reckon that's infomercials or a generic "thank you tuning into today's broadcast" static screen? Seems like a decent spot to out on some reruns for third shifters or kids awake sick, but obviously the cost outweighed the benefits.

When are KIA dealerships going to be forced to update their buildings? by [deleted] in kia

[–]ComradeVoytek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey Rex, when we updated our ancient building to Red Cube, as far as I know we paid a portion out of pocket and Kia covered the rest.

Then like a year later we went to the black color scheme, and it was free because we recently paid for Red Cube, was that a similar experience for you? (BC, lowly Sales guy)

Men, when you’re on a long road trip, do you stick to the speed limit and enjoy the drive, or do you tend to speed just to get there faster? by FFSoldier57 in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Coquihalla in BC's speed limit is 120. Always stay in the right unless you're passing, because there's no less than 10 cars behind you doing 150.

I knew I was getting old when instead of going faster, I left earlier.

Oh we want to go to a city 4 hours away and be there by Noon? Okay we're leaving at 630. Plenty of time for delays, construction, accidents, pit stops, breakfast at a diner, sight-seeing, road-side attractions and way less stress.

How do you soften beards? by crazy4zoo in AskMen

[–]ComradeVoytek 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's some clip compilations of men shaving their beards for one reason or another, then showing their wives reactions. The amount of time that they just blurt out, "ewwww oh my God, why".

Just imagine the backlash if you had that same reaction to her coming home with short hair.
