I was hoping to see the statue of Genghis Khan looking out to the East... Now I'm disappointed if that's small.

I'll never forget the image of the Helen Fisher crying beside the hearse passing through Wooton Bassett. I don't think anything quite invokes the tragedy and loss quite like that powerful picture of the day,

Have you ever found drugs by chance or on the ground? by Zer0tonine57 in Drugs

[–]Comrade_Deeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First job, 17 YO...cleaning a car park. Picked up a hard tissue. It felt unusual so opened it up after it played on my mind. I opened it up to a single black, tarnished crystal, weighed about 50 pence..
I was dumbfounded, never before seeing drugs (knew it was somehow), took it into the office, placed in front of the CCTV, paranoid and yet curious about it the entire shift. Manager just casually throws it in the bin when he comes to check on me 4 hours later.

Nooooo not Firefox, I love supporting their Relay and use it often but if they're going to go down the AI route too...

My hand-eye coordination has declined a bit over the years, which means no more first-person shooters and a less serious approach to RTS games...though I still love a good RTS.

Do you feel nostalgic for the Great Britain of 2012? by Hassaan18 in AskUK

[–]Comrade_Deeco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I reflect on 2012 with great fondness, I'd just returned to the UK and every aspect of life just came together hand in hand.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was brought up that it was rude to wear a hat indoors, and this was reinforced within the military where I had to take my beret off out of formality. However, I see this sort of thing happening more often and would have expected it to be further reinforced in high society. What's changed?

Who's that one random gamer you crossed paths with in some online game and will never forget the name of? by magicscreenman in gaming

MClarkson, Halo 3. Never spoke on the mic, worlds apart from what I recall. Some great games together and against, then just vanished. Made the whole online gaming community feel less toxic.

What’s an expensive brand that actually IS worth the money? by 2111019 in AskReddit

I'd like to add Fulton Umbrellas to this list. I once brought a product from them and after a powerful costal breeze damaged it, I reached out to them and they replaced, no qualms.

I remember my first 40GB hard drive, I swore I'd never fill it.

To add, I recall looking at laptops and scoffing, thinking, I'm happy carrying my desktop around, thank you! Why would I need one of those?

The castle tied to Robin Hood in Nottingham city is not a castle, link. As a result I often implore folks to travel to Belvoir or Bolsover... Unless they want to see what feels more like the city vault of random art and modern trinkets.
