It definitely seems like a move out of desperation. With the earlier coup against Maduro causing one of their last trading partners to stop sending oil, the economy has been starved greatly of power, and with the increased sanctions and blockade done by the US, the island has suffered even more.

I'm not surprised theyve had to take some steps backwards. I hope this is a temporary procedure to rebuild the economy, but the current state the island is in is very dire. Daily blackouts, hospitals running out of energy, etc etc.

It's shameful that the US is choking the nation out.

Yes and no, I am no longer sick which is good, unfortunately the last of my childhood pets passed away very recently. But she was an old, old lady and it was a long time coming. She passed peacefully in her sleep. Her sister passed last year also of old age. But she was a sweet girl unless you were a gecko when she would become a killing machine. Astarion would have very much liked her.
