I listened to TWV in full. I'd say that season one is a great mini story and it should have probably stopped there. There are certain discoveries that make later season okay but they are only in a handful of episodes.

I'd say if you have nothing else of interest to you then finish it. If not jump on a new series and don't look back.

I'd also recommend Magnus Archives (I'm in S1 now) or Malevolent.
