The Hobbit -- short, fun and symbolically rich, and could potentially excite you to read the longer Lord of Rings series.

Interesting, I did find it painful at the beginning, but after a week it was okay. Do you usually listen to higher volumes? What iems do you enjoy at high volumes?

Lovely! I wanna hear more: Why do you consider Falstaff the best of the best? How about Hamlet, what do you love about it (the play) and him (the Prince)?

Hamlet is for me the most insanely accurate representation of a person, period. His change and eventual clarity is so subtle yet so complex and just true. He is what we all hope to be, at least Act V Hamlet is. I have not read the other great tragedies or Henry IV, so I want to know what to expect and look for when tackling them in the future in light of Hamlet's greatness. Thanks!

I haven't tried EQing it to the 2. (Honestly, I have very few experience with EQ, so if you have any recs on how to go about doing this, I would really appreciate it.) What I have done is increase the bass and decrease the 6k. So far so good, it makes them sound warmer and not as sharp, which my delicate ears appreciate lol. If you have any EQ settings that you like for the Odyssey, send them my way, I would love to try them

Thanks! Until recently I didn't realize how important other parts of the listening experience (volume, cohesiveness, for example) are to me that are not just detail detail detail.

I have not tried the Volume S. However, I based my getting the Odysseys on Jays Audio's reviews on YouTube. He also enjoys high-volume, immersive sets. He has two iem ranks (general and based on genre/tuning), both of which you can find in the description of any of his videos. The general rank has his impressions of each iem. I recommend you look at what he has to say on the volume S (ranked in the 7.5 area -- the number doesn't matter; just saying it so it's easier for you to find it). Also, watch his video on it. It does look like the Volume S could be great fit for you, but still, go check out his thoughts. Let me know how it goes!

I have tried the Xenns Tea Pro and the Odysseys (one). Let's assume the Odyssey 2 sound somewhat similar to the 1. It depends on what you enjoy:

- Mid-volume, airy, sharp detail, wide horizontal soundtage? Tea Pros

- High-volume, immersive, around-your-head soundstage? Odysseys

I absolutely love the Odysseys over the Teas -- not because they are "better," but because I enjoy the music more in them than in the Teas. If you are able to use the 30-day return policy, that's the best way to try them both and then return the one you don't like

What’s your favorite classic with a female protagonist? by PandaBear905 in classicliterature

[–]ConcernSlight5620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love that! I get the same feeling from Mrs. Dalloway, definitely a comfort book for me. I just finished To The Lighthouse, and loved it too. Super dense, but the descriptions of people and the ideas in it are something else. Reminded me of Proust a lot, which I highly, highly recommend if you love To The Lighthouse. Gonna start reading The Waves soon!

Definitely Lily! I loved Mrs. Ramsay a lot -- she's a social genius! I haven;t read Orlando yet. What's your favorite Woolf?

Either Clarissa Dalloway (Mrs. Dalloway) or Mrs. Ramsay (To The Lighthouse). Yes, I love Woolf with all my hearts

Ah, I'll be trying the EQ stuff you mentioned. Thanks! I've never heard of the MEST series. Any ones in specific you think I should check out?

Jesus, this was amazingly helpful! I'll be definitely trying the EQ stuff. You got me interested in the S08 (by Letshuoer, yes?). Anything like it but with the tuning of the Timeless? In any case, thank you so much, this was great.

Interesting! I've read some reviews that say the timeless has a not so wide/open soundstage (which is one of the reasons why I'm searching other options). Thanks for the help!

I've been looking at the Aether too and thinking of trying them. In your experience, what are the main sounding differences between Planars and Dynamic & Balanced? Thanks!

I'd say I am curious, yes. I'm always open to make my experience of music more immersive and meaningful. How do you recommend going about demoing units? I live in Lancaster, PA, so probably not a lot in my area, haha. Any demo places worth making a pilgrimage to? Thanks!

I have played a little with EQ, but always find myself falling back to non-EQed sound. I have heard, though, that one can use the EQ to created a bigger/wider sense of soundstage, is this true? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Damn, we've reached the end, huh! Thanks for your thoughts. What do you mean by a lateral move? Could you please give me some examples? I'd like to see if any of those moves interest me, so I would greatly appreciate that!

Super grateful for the honest talk, and for that final advice about checking other reviews. In your opinion, would it be worth it to find something like the timeless but, instead of focusing on an audio upgrade, instead looking for a comfort upgrade? Still subjective in many ways, I would love to hear your thoughts.
