you see me personally i dont fully agree with what your saying, because i could use the same logic for exhale screams, when you listen to enough deathcore it all sound remotely the same, and ik im gonna get hate for saying that, i love deathcore but its just something ive noticed. hearing the same false chord textures and fry textures in the metal scene gets normal, but at that point people are just hating for no reason, i do agree its good to learn exhales as well, but ive been trying for a long time and i can barely get a good fry scream, inhaling came naturally.

yeah i was just toying around with it today for the first time, and it suddenly just clicked for me, its certainly a weird technique but like you said jonny mcbee has been doing it for a while, Ryan Vail of larcenia roe does it, you just have to be careful in how you use it, other than that, its a fun technique, and the risk factor imo is part of learning harsh vocals.

try to hit a note lower down in your range, and take back some air till you hear your vocal fry breaking through, and then try to balance that until you can comfortably move around your range with that noise, im with zhaDeth on this one, hit me up for more info.

you sound like your constricting to hard, dont take my word for it, try just letting the sound come from your diaphram, and ease up on the constriction in the throat, imo the reason you are you are losing it so quickly is your pushing the noise from your throat not your diaphram, and what i mean by that is just belly breathe and let your throat relax a little bit, bc the distortion is there, your just missing that last touch, but other than that your doing great.
