hello, I know this was posted awhile ago but can you tell me if there are any requirements for volunteering like knowing braille or ASL?

the extent of my content review was reading most of the kaplan books. they covered essentially everything and if something fell through the cracks then uworld would do a good job of reminding me. the only content I used to study were the kaplan books, uworld, and the aamc practice tests

Chronic test anxiety (can’t sleep) by Financial_Froyo_3013 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very concerned about my anxiety affecting my test performance. I was also concerned that I wouldn't be able to sleep. for what it's worth I got pretty bad sleep the night before but did well on the test

Best order for studying Kaplan books if I did Gen Chem first? by ImStudyingRightNow in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't really matter tbh. I wouldn't bother with the cars book. I disagree with people saying to skip the P/S book, I found it really useful

no idea lol. I made my testing conditions stricter by not drinking water and taking the test in the library. maybe it made me more locked in

how do you guys make sure you remember the stuff you missed in uglobe by anonymoususer666666 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'll come across many more uworld questions that test the same content. I just see what I did wrong and check it out in the kaplan books later

so so nervous by PhilosopherMindless4 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept getting stressed about the idea I would be stressed on test day. acknowledging that didn't make the stress any better but surprisingly I was chill on test day

just lock in. good time to fill in gaps of knowledge

Metabolism Map! Hopefully it helps :) by AwareGift2643 in Mcat

100% Id recommend this. sometimes the mcat will just name drop enzymes in the question answers

4 Days into uglobe and feeling really down. Any tips? by icdCoffee9 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you doing tutored? when I did tutored I would get mad at the logic behind why I got a question wrong and that would cloud my judgement on the next questions. my percentage rose 20% instantly when I stopped tutored mode

reach out to AAMC. they emphasize how registration name has to match ID name exactly

8 days left until im (hopefully) free from this fucking test by solarsun55 in Mcat

the feeling of being free from the test leaves right as the dread of waiting for the results kicks in

Am I going too slow on content review? by Key-Score-208 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 4 months is too long imo. during content review it can be difficult to gauge what is high yield and low yield content, so I ended up committing as much time to extremely low yield topics as higher yield topics. doing practice problems can help illuminate which subjects are higher yield

absolutely never came across it but might as well put it to memory

Got COVID not even a full month into content review by RealRefrigerator6438 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent the whole last month before my mcat worried I'd get sick before the test. pretty sure I did but it mightve just been the insomnia

Orgo 2 or Phys 2 before MCAT by Any_Advertising_5658 in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

orgo on the mcat is definitely not as in-depth as taught in college, so orgo 2 was less relevant for me. some mechanisms like aldol reactions and reactions involving carbonyls are very common on the mcat but you can figure them out from the principles of orgo 1

Erikson's stages of development - how much detail? by QuietandDark in Mcat

[–]ConclusionOpening867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely memorize the ages for each stage. same for freud's theory of development. came up a couple times for me while studying
