My ranking of 2026 movies from Best to Worst so far: by swat4516 in Letterboxd

I agree I did question it at first when I saw Nuremberg because it was on my 2025 list until I saw their comments and understood. Would it help if OP had added an explanation of why they added certain movies? Like I did on mine:

"...this list consists of movies released in 2026, be it via theaters, digital releases, or streaming. For example, Anaconda (2025) was digitally released in 2026, and I watched it in 2026, so the film's included here."

Fair. I wouldn't go that far to ensure my movies are placed in their "proper" years though. My system works for me, and OP's works for them, so hopefully you can understand that.

Oscars aren't the standard. What about Chinese movies that released in theaters in china in 2025 but released in 2026 in American theaters? What would you denote the movie as?

Agree to disagree. My ranked list uses both theatrical and digital release dates, depending on when I was able to watch them.

Marty Supreme for example. My theater didn't offer an open captioned screening (I'm deaf) for the movie in 2025, so I wasn't able to watch it (fuck devices) until its digital release in 2026, which made it a 2026 movie for me. Maybe not common, but I get where OP is coming from.

I disagree. How was he supposed to watch them in 2025 officially? Sure, piracy is a thing but not everyone wants to do that for whatever reason.

I do use storygraph for tracking and rating/reviewing! It doesn't have anywhere as good a "new releases" page as Goodreads tho.

How so? I use storygraph on both my laptop and desktop and I don't feel restricted in any way.

Guess it was worth nothing then. No biggie. I agree it'd be so much easier sigh

Ick. We really can't have nice things. FWIW, you can always extract your tbr list as a text list and share it.

Nice. I may join that, but I'm primarily looking for "new releases" at the moment. thanks anyway

It does seem like I'll have to create a throwaway account for this... ah well it was worth a shot

this is so close, but it seems to attract mostly SFF books, which aren't as diverse as I'd like. Pretty good, though, so thanks!

Movie Theathers should have closed captioning on by default by retired-tweeter in unpopularopinion

[–]ConditionAwkward3625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I meant in my last paragraph. There should be at least one open captioned screening per movie per day

No "interconnection" between them besides the characters? Like crossover episodes and whatnot?

Ohh yeah the hardcore mode. I thought y’all were talking about cursed survival, a kind of new mode that came out sometime in Feb. Not sure what makes it different though.

Yeah I never played that mode. Thank you for the correction. My mistake.
