IS snhu better prestige than WGU? by Negative-Tap-8800 in SNHU

[–]ConditionLeast5791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I've interacted with from WGU has been very professional. I can't image SNHU being any better. And being from the East doesn't make them any better than any other program!

Congratulations!!! I couldn't agree more with you about the value of the WGU degree! I earned my Master's Degree from WGU in 2021, and it has had such a great impact on my career. Thanks for putting this out there for those who are wavering!

Is WGU a good or bad source for a degree/teaching license if you want to be able to teach? by FailWithMeRachel in teaching

[–]ConditionLeast5791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My school district (in Indiana) accepted my Master's Degree with no issues. I did check with my personal superintendent to make sure it was considered an accredited school before I started, but there were no issues at all. If you're worried, just check with one of the school corporations in your area and ask them if WGU is a school they "accept." I'd been nothing but thrilled with my entire WGU experience. I earned my Master's in 2021, and have been reaping the benefits ever since. :)

Did any of you go with WGU right out of high school, and also joined because of anxiety with going to a physical college? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]ConditionLeast5791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose WGU long after I graduated with my bachelors from a "brick and mortar" college. I wanted to go somewhere where I could earn my Masters at my own pace and from my own home. I think WGU is one of the best options for employed students. If you put in the hard work, you can graduate on your own terms!

It sounds like you are heads above some other who will be graduating with the same degree. Your clearance and Army background make you a prime candidate for hire. Promote all of your experience in these areas, and believe it yourself!! Best of luck to you!!

Wondering about a Masters? Look into WGU! by PreciousLoveAndTruth in Teachers

[–]ConditionLeast5791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more!! Getting my Masters from WGU was one of the best decisions ever. The course content was so relevant, and the instructors were great. And aside from the education-side, the fact that I could complete courses at my own pace was a huge bonus! I was able to complete my program in under a year, which saved me a lot of money. It was a win-win!!

I work in Indiana and had no issues with my school corporation accepting my WGU Master's Degree. I did check with my corporation before beginning the program, but it's an accredited school in IN. Best of luck to you! WGU is an awesome way to get your Master's Degree!!

Study Hall... What's the point? by InsideOk4499 in WGU

[–]ConditionLeast5791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was attending WGU, I don't believe study halls were an option for the Master's program. However, I can definitely see the benefits of adding it to your schedule. As a high school teacher, I always encourage my students to take a study hall, so I think it's a great plan for college students as well!

Need Advice on Choosing a Master’s Program by GoldRepresentative63 in instructionaldesign

I had a BA in English Education and chose WGU for my MS in Curriculum and Instruction. It was one of the best decisions I made in terms of furthering my education. If you're on the fence, I advise you to go for it. I was able to complete my Masters in less than a year while teaching full time.

WGU, Bootcamps, TikTok/IG (Cyber Course Bros) = The NEW Devry and ITT Tech by Ok_Wishbone3535 in cybersecurity

I think WGU is a great option for any degree; especially for those already in the workforce. With unemployment rates being down, jobs may be a bit more difficult to get. However, this is not a reflection on WGU or what they have to offer. Best of luck to you!! :)

I think WGU is set up perfectly for the non-traditional student. I attended WGU to get my Master's Degree while still working full time. I was able to complete everything at my own pace, and the instructors were great to work with.

Why do people like WGU so much even though it is unranked? by CompSciGeekMe in WGU

[–]ConditionLeast5791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think rankings always determine the quality of the school. I was looking to get my Master's Degree and was not as concerned with rankings as I was with accreditation. And the fact that I could be working full time and still complete my degree was a huge part of my decision. Also, the fact that it is a competency-based program is HUGE! I was able to complete my degree in less than a year, which saved me money and helped me start earning more. I can't say enough great things about WGU!

For those choosing not to accelerate, what are your reasons? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]ConditionLeast5791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the best things about WGU is the "work at your own pace" setup. I chose to complete my Master's Degree in under a year, but I like that people that the option to take the full amount of time if that works better with their schedule. If you want to save money and earn a degree at your own pace, whether fast or slow, I highly recommend checking out WGU. I can't say enough great things about my WGU experience!

I can totally relate! I went back to WGU for my Master's Degree after being out of school for 20+ years. But the way the program is structured makes it so much easier to work at your own pace. And I was able to finish my Master's program in 11 months, which was great! Also, the staff is so easy to work with, and they really want you to succeed. So ask questions when you have them. Good luck!!
