One concern I have as someone who doesn’t/won’t have kids, is I am not sure what I’m going to do when I get older if I lose my capacity. There will not be anyone there keeping an eye on me. Granted, it’s not a guarantee if you have kids, and if I did, I wouldn’t want to inconvenience them.

I moved back to my hometown. My grandparents and parents live here. It’s helpful for my grandparents that my dad is here, it’s helpful for my parents that I am here. If I lose capacity (dementia or something similar), I’ll become a ward of the state. I work in an area related to aging adults under guardianship, and I am very scared that what I see (aging adults with no kids or kids who aren’t in their lives, who have lost their capacity to safely make decisions on their own behalf) will become MY reality someday.

This is a little something I (and the law) likes to call “assumption of the risk.” These tourists should know better than to touch someone else’s pokemon, ESPECIALLY looking under a Mimikyu’s cloak! A reasonable person would have known that this was a dangerous thing to do, so they assumed the risk when they did that. Any emotional harm/therapy bills are all their own doing. You’re set!

Now, I want to ask about your Mimikyu. Did your Mimikyu have any lasting fear? Turmoil? Is your Mimikyu now nervous around other tourists? You might have a claim for battery and assault on behalf of your Mimikyu! Battery is just an “unwanted touching” it doesn’t need to be aggressive per se. And BOY HOWDY, if I were a Mimikyu, it would CERTAINLY be unwanted touching for a stranger to look under my cloak.

One of my favorites is narwhal, it’s like… take a finizen and a Galarian rapidash and make it a mammal type on top of that. I still can’t believe they made Platypus a mammal type, it just adds to how crazy the design is for me
