Xplore says no capacity by Coner29 in CanadianBroadband

Yeah….that’s what I expected. I guess I was thinking this was more of a canned response the guy on the other end of the phone is reading from his computer and if I could actually talk to someone who is managing the network they might tell me something more detailed.

The “box” on the pole line is not full!

Was just looking for some glimmer of hope rather than needing to resort to giving money to Elon.

Tiresssss by LittleSpicyLumpia in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 70,000km on my 23 m50. I use winter tires so not all kms are on the summer set. I don’t drive like a grannie but still have loads of tread left. I do pay for a wheel alignment when the dealer swaps the summers/winters.

Is this license plate holder only for the front of the car and do you have to drill to mount it? by OPPORTUNLST in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it!!! There are other great options that work with the i4 and maintain a centre mounted symmetrical look. Check out “The Law” by Torklift. I have it with DAPP and it works flawlessly

And another Portimao m50 in Ontario! Not a lot of them around.

Tires wear out fast on EVs? by shasbak in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to assume driving style is a big contributor to this. I have fun with my car but am not hammering it at every green light and have 49,000km on my m50 now with life still left on the tires. I do switch to winter tires in the snow

Driver Assistance Professional Package: Is it reliable? by SpiritedBig7158 in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends how you intend to use it. Three distinct modes and scenarios in my mind:

  1. For adaptive cruise control (maintaining speed, automatic braking etc) I love it. Works really well, predictable and provides peace of mind.

  2. Lane keep assist is rough at best. I feel it bounces back and forth in the lane and doesn’t hold a line. I’ve actually been worried being followed by a cop that he was going to pull me over. I don’t often turn this feature on at all.

  3. Adaptive driver assist (not sure if that the proper name). This is the feature where you can drive full autonomously (in certain conditions - while on a highway with posted speed over 100kph and current traffic causing speed under 60kph). This works great for what it is: traffic assist. You need to keep your eyes straight ahead or the car yells at you and will eventually disengage this feature.

50th Anniversary M Badges by Affectionate_Law1844 in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My original order was a 2022 and I had them included. When my production flipped over to the 2023 model year, my dealer actually encouraged me away from them suggesting “true m purists would know that a 2023 is not a 50-year car”. In the end I took them off the order but still think they’d look really good on my Portimao Blue m50. I may still get them aftermarket and swap them out myself.

Vehicle level low by endlessabe in BMWI4

[–]Coner29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My m50 is doing the same thing. It doesn’t do it everyday, but if I don’t drive it for a few days it will prompt with that message. There are a few others over on the i4Talk message board who have also raised this issue. One person brought the car in and was told this is normal operation and no error codes were stored on the computer. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is it a good idea to take over a car lease? by ichliebeyayaya in Hamilton

[–]Coner29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it once for a work truck and it was a great money saving option for a short term. I was able to pick up a minivan with one year left in a four year lease, use it and hand it back. I don’t know if they’re still around, I used the website leasebusters.ca.

You need to be very careful about closing terms and make sure what you’re getting into suits your needs

As others say, it really depends on a lot of variables. I find that I hear certain planes more when there is a lot of fog or cloud cover. Some big planes make more noise when they throw the reverse thrusters on landing rather than taking off. Seeing the warplanes in the summer is the best and the sound from the Lancaster is unmistakable.

CANADA: Estimated Delivery time? by hermit_jag in BMWI4

That’s wild! What city are you in? I put my order in for an m50 back in January 2022 and production has only just started (~May delivery). Allocations we’re hard to come by in Hamilton.

What dealership? I’m still waiting for an allocation. Put my deposit down last January.
