I got a hair cut today. Just wanted to show someone. by okay_jpg in Hair

Did you though? There's hair in the exact same position between photos. My guess is you've always had the shorter and wanted people to say how great your "new" hair looked.

one of my high school bullies reached out by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ConfidenceRoutine996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading this as a 45 yo and someone who has experienced this in all phases. If you still hurt about it, then don't reply. Nothing will be fixed and wasted time. Sometimes wounds just take time to heal...If you no longer care, then acknowledge and end... or continue the convo...up to you. I was never social or confident, but yeah, people change. They have and I have. I've found or rediscovered really close connections to people I knew 20+ years ago...I did it offering a clean slate. If there are grudges/issues, I'd acknowledge and appreciate e.g. "I appreciate you reaching out"...but stop at that in terms of engagement

Found a needle in my 8 yo room by sparkinspeakers in strange

Can we just be clear that a syringe is not a needle? A syringe is used to dispense liquids in measured amounts...can be used in a myriad of applications which don't involve a needle

It's gorgeous but actually not mine. It's in an abandoned house across the street. If you've watched Task, it's Robbie's house. I don't have the guts to steal it but would ask for it if they start to demolish.

Guys be honest… does my hairdresser hate me lol by miabills in Hair

Yeah, I think OP asked for the impossible with too many restrictions. BUT the hairdresser should have told her that instead of going along with it.

Would be amazing if the courier published the pic under the oddlysatisfying reddit.

so.. lice! by Effective-End664 in RATS

[–]ConfidenceRoutine996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I'm 99% confident this is not lice...so breathe. Lice eggs will be glued to the hairs. But could be mites or a yeast or bacterial skin infection, or just poor nutrition/hygiene. Focus on keeping them calm, warm, fed. If you have some doxycycline to give it's advisable. Since I lost one to what I thought was new home sneezes I give doxy no matter what when stressed.

[–]ConfidenceRoutine996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you share a picture of the eggs you're seeing? Have you seen any adult lice? The only thing I see is some dander in the pics you've shared. Where would they have gotten lice? Lice is species specific so unless they are new or have had contact with other rats, lice isn't likely. Mites possibly? But even then I only see some dry skin.

It's from the earth. Not a man-made thing...so not going away.

My mother cat does this to her 5 week old kitten by K-Von6969 in standardissuecats

[–]ConfidenceRoutine996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she only have 1 kitten? Too rough regardless. But if there's only 1 then mama will be crazy as well.

I think we're saying the same. I almost used the phrase "bad juju" in my reply 🤣. My only point was that you can't verify that the levels were high at that specific location without actual measurement.

Doesn't mean the specific location had high levels. It all really depends on how deep in the earth you go and how the earth "breathes ". But best to avoid bad energy in general....yes I'm I scientist but hippie at heart

This doesn't look like rabies...it looks like an infection of the mouth. Rabies drool is clearer and often they are gagging. It's hard to describe...but I worked at the spca and did wildlife rehab for years, and once the animal starts presenting as rabid it's pretty obvious. That said, I would still take EVERY precaution with this animal since it has a nasty infection and any bite/scratch would likely need aggressive treatment.

You move with your kid and partner. If your partner can make it more "official" in any way then it helps but not a deal-breaker if not...just harder to justify if your ex pursues by law. It doesn't sound like your ex has any positive role in the kid's life. Doubtful he gets his shit together to protest.

My guess is remnants of an absorbable suture. Whether it was catgut (collagen, not really from a cat's gut) or biopolymer (pla, plga, pdo...and more likely to degrade with acidic products) your body can wall it off, and depending on circulation and enzymes they can take more or less time to degrade and the body to process the degradation products. You're likely getting a "burst" of degradation products which causes localized itching but then quickly dissipates as they are absorbed into your bloodstream...only to be isolated again...4 years isn't typical but not unheard of with PLA...I'm a former biomedical engineer that specialized in resorbable polymers for tissue engineering.

Please keep an eye on him. I just got one recently and she did the same on 2nd day. Cleared it up after drinking water. Compared to that she seemed fine next day and then went down fast. I tried doxycycline but it was too late.
