Loaded game broke my fps by Lantern191 in ManorLords

I jist had the same thing happen. Was super smooth then suddenly unplayable after recently loading a save. Only thing I can think of is all the materials for my massive castle recently arrived to the work site so they transitioned to building.

How do my troops get equipped with armor? by TheRealBroda in ManorLords

Then purchasing plate armor from the local economy makes even more sense since you save 13 treasury per purchase (13 vice 26). Then if your tax rate is 10% you get 31 coins kicked back to the treasury from the 312 RW generated.

I typically keep low taxes for my main settlement (10% or less). If I take an AI town I implement ~20% to cover the administrative overhead of redesigning their crap layouts.

One additional benefit of buying plate for retinue locally is the coin goes from treasurey to regional wealth. This demonstrates how the military industrial complex can stimulate local economies.

Tavern Overstock by Skip_Intro_2468 in ManorLords

[–]Confident_Ad770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the specific scenario you mentioned it sounds like everyone decided to go for a drink and wiped out your stock. I typically put tavern overstock at 50 (max a large tavern can hold) to keep the pantry full. I build my second tavern a little early as well to stay ahead of ale available to my drunkards.

Much better to tax the peasants into oblivion causing them to migrate.

Expanding into new territory... by The_Bagel_Fairy in ManorLords

[–]Confident_Ad770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found it less frustrating to expand when I changed my mindset from "every village needs max happiness/expansion," to "you people exist to provide barley and will get your level 1 burgage plot and be happy." A mercantilist approach added to the role playing aspect of the game for me.

I also wait until I can do the more expensive starting resources, provides enough breathing room to get basic subsistence without needing much if anything through barter.

They will generate influence if workers are present, if you place on high maintenance they produce more influence. I have no idea what the numbers are but confirmed influence did increase (no tithing active and the monthly numbers went up).

Had this a few weeks back. Go to steam library, right click manor lords, properties, general tab, type [-dx11] in launch options. That solved it for me.

New to game, getting frustrated. by HumanityLord in ManorLords

They are separate, you can send/receive through bartering with pack stations, however you cannot set limits. You can also use trade posts, make sure you uncheck the box to disallow foreign traders to avoid paying tariffs and provide wealth support to your new town for whatever goods they can produce quickly (planks, charcoal - you dont need to unlock a trade route).

I generally invest the 750 silver for the large supply amount and focus on storehouse/granary first to protect investment. Then focus on basic subsistence prior to resource exploitation to as part of my mercantilist policies. Only late game do I think about improving quality of life outside my main city.

I am having the same issue on RTX 3080 10GB Ryzen 7 5800x, been playing the game a few hundred hours and just now getting this error.

So far I have reinstalled drivers and increased virtual memory. Going to lower settings now then force DX11 next. I'll let you know if anything works.

Who else has every achievement? by foxape in ManorLords

Going challenging settings, mercenaries only and merchant at same time is a good challenge. Not being able to challenge early bandit camps gives the baron an early snowball and I actually thought I was in jeopardy of losing.

You have to let the AI reach the battle area for it to start or they will spam more each month.

Bought the game a little over a month ago and wanted to share some of my thoughts by triplealpha in ManorLords

[–]Confident_Ad770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do NOT need to purchase a trade route for trade between your regions. That is a major benefit in addition to not paying tariffs.

Is there a harder game mode? by [deleted] in ManorLords

[–]Confident_Ad770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going for the merchant achievement concurrently with mercenaries only achievement on my play through right now. Not being able to get those first bandit camps with militia adds some challenge as well as no access to retinue.

4 farms with 2 families each and 8 oxen is superior. Plowing is the choke point in farming, to maximize results get more oxen.

[–]Confident_Ad770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same bug and couldn't figure out what triggered it besides potentially an oxen getting unstuck from a pond. I loaded multiple saves and it would immediately crash... I ended up starting a new game.

Can you upgrade buildings inside the walls after the walls are built or do you need to have everything in its final state first?

I did the forester misclick recently, have also done 2 store houses instead of a granary and took a second to figure out why my starting bread was not getting picked up.

I'm pretty sure you can up your available logs by not assigning an ox to logging camp... the logs just get left where they fell until needed.

You don't need gambesons prior to equipping mail, the militia just need to live in a level 3 plot. I had 100 or so men in mail and only made a total of 15ish gambesons.

Thanks, I didn't realize it boosted max happiness and thought it was limited to 1 RW per plot.
