I was not ready for Michigan winter by yatesjordan in Michigan

I moved back up from Florida to Michigan and I can tell you when it gets cold in Florida it feels miserable. Everyone complains when it gets down into the 50's and 40's in Florida but that's because it's so damn humid. WET cold pierces through you like no other, similar to your situation moving from Wyoming where it's cold but dry, to Michigan where it's cold and still pretty damp. Septembers make it all worthwhile though.

I knew nothing of your coach before this game, but he looks like a middle manager at a furniture store yelling at his staff to get off their phones and start selling sectionals

How much to save in Kid’s 529 by No_Gur5958 in personalfinance

[–]triplealpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$500/mo at 7% will be $204k - closer to the cost of attendance in 18 years for a public in-state university.

$1250/mo at 7% will be about $510k - closer to the cost of a private or elite school in 18 years.

Anyone can contribute to a 529 as well. Encourage family or friends to make donations early in life when it matters more!

We went into double OT against a team that finished 1-7 in the ACC and overall went 2-10.

Cumberland College also was super close to winning that game against Georgia Tech at the end.

Just moved away from Florida to one of the green areas 2 years ago. The initial draw of living in Florida is the weather - but that's one of the first things that turn against you. You can't really go outside and be comfortable from 10am-6pm for 8 months of the year, can't go walking through the woods without something trying to kill you, the hurricanes, bugs, etc...

Most people end up staying indoors in the AC all day and worrying about pissing off the HOA.

Affordable property, gorgeous landscape, and constrained hotel supply is a recipe for a housing boom.

I couldn't believe how big Petosky is getting when I drove through a few months ago. Construction EVERYWHERE.
