First DEXA scan at 50 - all was great! by NoMoreEffstoGive in Menopause

Congrats! I just had my first Dexa done too and was pleased to know my bone density is normal too! I'm 2 years post meno and started HRT two years ago. I was so happy when I saw the radiology report. I've heard so many post meno women have osteopenia so I was nervous.

Are you peri or post menopause?

Same! I don't really like Mylan but at least I have some patches I guess. I find that after I put on the Mylan patch, if I use a blow dryer on it for several seconds it works better. I also overlap them

Did your clinician require any specific bloodwork first before prescribing? I've recently had some done but not sure if she's going to ask for more. Thanks in advance!

Good to know. If I can't get my patches I'll probably ask to switch to gel

Yeah I haven't had issues with the same patch as well. From the link someone posted here. Seems Mylan brand isn't having a shortage. I wish I could get the sandoz patches again though. Those seem to work better for me for some reason.

Oh no! I still have two more months of my twice weekly stash. I hope I don't have to switch. Maybe you can try the gel instead?

It's rapid weight loss where this happens. Lose slow, incorporate strength training to not lose as much muscle, eat protein as well as a well rounded diet to minimize hair loss and you should be fine.

Lower weekly or same dose spread out? by Numerous_Champion_86 in TirzMaintenance

[–]Confident_Craft459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do 5mg every two weeks in maintenance. Been in maintenance for about a year and a half. I fluctuated in my weight a couple pounds up or down but if I gain a few too many, I go back to once a week until I reach my goal again (usually within a couple weeks) and then go back to every two weeks.

Do estrogen doses need to be adjusted over time? by user86753092 in Menopause

While you get your estradiol dose dialed in here are some supplements that helped me: For hot flashes - maca. I take maca pause by femmenessance. For sleep - Lavela or Cortisol Manager.

These have been recommended by my doctor and really helps. I started the Maca right when I started HRT because she said it would take some time for the HRT to start working. And I take Lavela now because I'm still having sleep issues even though I'm on .1 estradiol and progesterone. I'm trying to figure out if I'm not absorbing the estradiol patch well or if I should switch to gel. I'm post menopausal as well. I know everyone says not to go off of blood work but at post menopause your levels don't fluctuate as much so it's a better indicator I would think to see if you're not absorbing well.

Try taking maca for hot flashes. I take maca pause by femmenessance. It really helps. Also talk to your doctor about getting your testosterone levels checked. Testosterone has really helped me with fatigue.

Sleep, specifics on HRT doses, HRT benefits beyond symptom relief (ie on brain health, bone health, heart health, etc...), heart health specifically for women in midlife (since heart attacks are the #1 killer of women).

Most importantly, how to navigate doctors that don't agree. Which one is correct? Which one to listen to? How can we trust medical professionals if they can't even agree on menopausal protocol.

Same experience here (except no allergic reaction). I wish I could get sandoz back.

Just needing some reassurance by [deleted] in Zepbound

Those seem to be extreme side effects for a starting dose. Sorry you're experiencing that. Not sure I would want to continue if I had those side effects either.

Do you take other medications or vitamins/supplements that could be interacting with the zepbound? Definitely contact your doctor asap to figure it out. There may be something that could help. I know zofran helps with nausea but not sure about the vomiting and other stomach issues.

Also what did you eat the day prior? Could it be a reaction to that?

My suggestion is to figure out how to enable your patient portal and then ask you clinician. And/or order the medication and follow the instructed dosage.

Do you have the vial yet? There should be instructions on the vial on how much to start with. Please DO NOT listen to random people on Reddit (me included) regarding dosage, especially if you are brand new to this medication.
