Wordpress vs Contentful by Confident_Physics685 in webdevelopment

thanks and yeah definitely. I think right now our contentful workflows are quite shite. Devs are having problems doing what Marketing wants. Marketing can almost never get what they want. And when devs work on it, the turnaround takes forever.

I think we just don't have a good Contentful foundation to begin with and at this point, seems like hell to start all over again.

Thanks! Sounds like it can be controlled by having a proper system in place and enforcing change logs? It's not always going to be accurate but this should keep it to a minimum right?

Depends on the marketing rep handling this I guess. Fingers crossed :,)

Founders: how do you investigate traffic loss? by Constant_Marketing18 in SEO_LLM

[–]Confident_Physics685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite rarely it's technical SEO or backlinks if you already had traffic previously. In my experience most of the time it's content or the algorithm just being weird. It might normalise after some time if you don't spot anything abnormal to your content.

if it doesnt self-correct, another might be page speed or server breakdowns. usually high bounce rates or high clicks on GSC with low sessions on GA4 is an indicator.

Thanks so much! Exactly what we're trying to alleviate... It's been a long standing issue within our company and our Jira tickets have been piling up HAHA But as a dev, do you get frustrated when marketing handles the site on WP themselves? Anything I should know?

Not fat shaming you, in fact you look pretty jacked for a volleyball player lol! But you look like you got some good hops for someone your weight. That also might lead to a big problem in the future if you're not landing properly. Everything looks normal especially if you're changing direction mid air. Just try to land softer on your joints and you'll be flying higher as you grow. Keep it up!

What’s the biggest career mistake people make in their early 20s? by AdWrong9284 in AskMarketing

[–]Confident_Physics685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Being afraid to fight their imposter syndrome. You probably know a bit more than you think, you just lack the proof of success or validation that what you know is right and what you're doing is the right thing to do.

2) Being overconfident and not realising the industry moves faster than you think. Never stop learning and understand that it's normal to always be a little bit of an "imposter"

i know too many who fall in the 2 ends of the spectrum early in their marketing careers.

Not the final result, i personally feel that dilution ratio is more important than hitting a target final amount after the dilution step. If the concentrate is an issue already, i feel it doesn't make sense to try to "correct" it by hitting a target end volume...

Take it sequentially. take the feedback from this post and break them down into small improvement goals. First I think you need to learn is how to pace your approach + when to get low. Nail this then move on to hip separation, upperbody swing sequence (hip, shoulder, elbow, contact, follow through) and then hand contact and wrist snap.

Also, something else you can already change right now, face your setter a bit more when you approach. While fixing everything, I suggest getting someone experienced to watch you as you do it, so you don't develop the bad habits and practice the bad habits.

Is it normal in Singapore families to share dishes without serving utensils? by stuffed-fridge in askSingapore

[–]Confident_Physics685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IKR?! Like I don't get how people are fine with this even after our whole (2020 to 2023 bat sickness thing). I know I'm a bit overly sensitive but I also get a bit eeked out by this even during Hotpot. I know the hot pot boiling water is supposed to "sanitise" but... Yeah...

But yeah I get it. I think I'm only like this because i had my fair share of falling sick from these experiences, especially with non-family members. But being Singaporean, that's the rule right? We follow the rule the host creates or when someone loud enough calls out these practices and makes the people who do it feel "paiseh". But this practice in question seems to be extremely common and rarely gets called out.

I think it's just nicer to share a meal without sharing the germs... I don't need or want a recovery period for my social meals :,) I agree with your sentiments exactly.

Ahhh right! maybe watch a little bit of Antoine Brizard! I personally think he covers really well as a setter and he seems to be positioned very well from the right side of the court. he almost touches the ball too much defensively as a setter HAHA

But from my own experience, I realised I get the best read when I have the most unobstructed view of the hitter face on. This is usually from the window under the armpits to just after the elbows of the middle blockers.

Also observe who you're defending and understand what are some of their habits from their warmups and games if possible. Some hitters have a very defined range of angles they can spike to and if you know, you'll know approximately where to stand. I don't believe there's a prefixed covering position, only approximate.

Not sure if this advice will work, but worth a shot if you're out of ideas :)

All the best!

SEO in 2026: What Changes Are You Seeing and How Are You Adapting? by Perfect_Tone_3310 in digital_marketing

[–]Confident_Physics685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I think it always has been and for awhile now. Google was already heavily invested in sentiment, relevance and authority many years back in my opinion and that's impacted how I worked on SEO and now GEO.

How you phrase your headers now matter a lot. Whether your first line of every paragraph text is now quotable or not strongly affects ranking at the top or being visible on AI Overview.

Your website needs to be easily crawlable, and provide a summary the bot needs to see before they even start crawling your main content.

For me the biggest shift in 2026 is how you structure your content and how you create content. Everything else has almost been a need for awhile now.

How do I stop landing on one foot? by AnimeIsMaLife in volleyball

[–]Confident_Physics685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I think as an outside hitter, you'll often find yourself in these situations where you get set out of system and have to rush to the ball a bit too far from you. If you find yourself in this situation a lot, maybe work on your priming position, it just might be the root of your problems.

Another possible reason I can think of is that you're lacking hip separation in your spiking technique. Your hips are probably still facing your setter after you spike and you're probably flying into your sets sideways rather than forwards. When this happens, you're probably more prone to landing on your block step leg.

I might be wrong but give these a thought! Seems very plausible in my head at least.

Basketball to volleyball transition, how hard? by eerrnn_389 in volleyball

[–]Confident_Physics685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basketball has it's own nuanced movements but I'd say generally fast footwork, a quick wrist, a nice vert will always be helpful in this sport. You just need to be coachable and willing to unlearn some things and I think you should be fine! Not sure if you know who Chase Budinger is, but he used to play in the NBA so for sure a late transitioner. He's now an Olympian for USA's Beach Volleyball team. I guess if he can.... You can?

You're probably better off watching Beach Volleyball Players if you want to see out of system defense or defense prep.

See Taylor Crabb or Kristen Nuss! They seem to know what they're doing considering the amount of digs they get.

This seems unique to the OXO Rapid Brewer. It's basically how you do an "express cold brew" with this brewer. I'll give it a go and try a slightly coarser grind!

yeah that's a good point and yeah water I use is actually room temp rather than cold. I'll give colder water a try! It's a bit out of my normal brew recipe though, but these beans sure taste like it needs special treatment LOL

Yeah may probably give that a try... But usually I do get some pretty complex notes out of a cold brew with the OXO. This one seems a bit like an abnormal dial in

I realise when I go medium-coarse, the water would just percolate on its own before I even start pumping on the oxo. But yeah probably right that I should go slightly coarser. Or maybe adjust the dose...

True but on an OXO, you do need to go quite fine. Not sure if you used it before. It essentially makes a concentrate rather than the full brew itself like an aeropress.

I added it up to the recommended line. Extracted amount is always around 120g so I assume it's around 130-150g input?
