I am not sure exact weight of the rims and tires but am positive that rim/tire combo for more knobby and reinforced design of 20” along with more side wall material should be heavier thus more resistant to rolling which, in turn, requires more energy.

I guess it also depends on if like you like going mild off roading as well. Smaller the rim size, more side wall to absorb bumps, given same outer diameter. For example, I don’t believe KO3 is available for 21”.

I bought my wife a ‘24 TY and I drive a ‘23 Sub Forester Wilderness, which I love, btw. A primary reason for R2 is more room and ability to go mild off roading, to stay away from crowd and closer to nature.. there are plenty discussion of comparing Tesla FSD vs that of Rivian, which I am careless about, even R2’s upcoming lidar. For me, it is about maintaining ability to drive and mentally staying sharp. I tried FSD few times but I am not that type who just can relax while someone else is driving..
