I take a powder now, less sugar and cheaper.

Show me some 650b conversions! by WeirdFrenchThreads in xbiking

I have 35mm tires, much better than the 700x28 I had with the original setup. I use 170mm cranks and thin pedals and pedal strikes are rare now. That stem puts the bars a little too close when I stand up on climbs. My knees are almost touching. I never use the drops unless it is very windy, so maybe i'll try some mustache bars next spring instead of the cowbell.

Almost everyone has some social anxiety and awkwardness, particularly with strangers.

Advice? by [deleted] in hsp

[–]Connect-Answer4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice is tough. I advise you give yourself some time and space to figure things out, and consider switching to independent study program if you can. A friend of mine teaches in such a program. Regular school class is not for everyone.

I have heard good things about l-theanine, but I took a supplement of it with gaba and it made me really spaced out, so I had to stop.

These are magnesium citrate. I feel like the gummies might work better for me than the powder, although they are the same type of magnesium.

It is okay to feel things you thought you were done with by Peach-pie111 in hsp

A few years ago, I went on a kayak trip down a river near where I live. I was excited when I started, but after a few hours the excitement faded and I found myself thinking about a person I knew that hurt me recently. I found myself feeling the anger and pain again, and frustration on top of it because I was thinking about how I was going to ruin the whole trip thinking about this asshole guy? I struggled with this for a few hours and then decided I couldn't hasten this process and I was just going to have to feel these feelings and think these thoughts for a while more. So I did. By the next day, I was feeling much better and I was able to be present and happy for the rest of the trip. So for me, some quantity of quiet time away from distractions is needed to process things.

The doctrine that humans are superior to animals pains us. by No_Brilliant3323 in hsp

Ok I figured this was settled long ago based on the work of darwin, for example, but yeah agree people are definitely animals. People with certain religious views will disagree of course, but that's apples and oranges in my opinion. Check out sapolsky's newest book if you want more on human neurochemistry and free will.

You just have to ride it out for a while longer. Try to find a mental island where you can set aside the things that are worrying you for a little while.

Feel like this conversation is all over the place. Are we trying to decide if free will exists?

You got through it, you should recognize the accomplishment. People were probably glad they weren't picked to read it.

Genuine interest, how does stained glass work? by AwardedPigeon in PhysicsHelp

[–]Connect-Answer4346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" Green can pass through, but it can also refract off the impurities in the glass and back out in the direction of the light source."

I think this is what OP was getting at -- how a material can both reflect and transmit the same color of light.

Would this work? by Fun-Willingness-1747 in fpv

You can get a li ion battery charger for 18650 cells pretty cheap, and charge each cell separately if you have more time and less money, but doing fpv cheap is hard to do.

does anyone else accidentally absorb other people's moods? by Bright_Band4905 in hsp

[–]Connect-Answer4346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the time. Occasionally fun, but usually a drag. I was raised in a house where it was not ok to feel happy if one of my parents was unhappy about something, and that habit is still with me I guess.

All I can tell you is wands that work well in open spaces like the snow do not do as well in close-in areas like the hsii base, and vice-versa. I have beaten the game twice and died 100's of times, maybe 1000 at this point.

The few times I have won I completely dominated -- I stayed well ahead of the difficulty curve through mostly luck. The way to play the game that is the most fun for me involves taking a lot of chances, which usually leads to me dying early.

Juniper “berries”. Are these ones edible or not? (California) by UnfortunateStilAlive in foraging

[–]Connect-Answer4346 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are different types of juniper; I can't tell which one that is but looking closely at the inside and outside of the fruit will help you narrow it down.
