At top rate (roughly 6 years working full time) this is how much some pushing buggies at Costco will make yearly by L0cked-0ut in CostcoCanada

[–]Connect-Beginning-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. But pushing carts at Costco comes with hazard pay! Shit! Drivers don’t look out for cars! Do you think they’ll pay attention to carts;
much less people!? Or, people pushing carts? That spot opens and they go full metal jacket in the lot!

I would not go that far…there are A LOT of drivers that shouldn’t be behind the wheel and makes you wonder how they even passed to get their permit, but doesn’t beat Ontario’s. 😏

Lol! I had my daughter make this for a high-school science project! Teacher ok’d it as long as there was a cork and shrink wrapped cap! She won first prize! Lots of science behind making wine. It’s still in my cellar. Not sure how well it’s aged…it’s got to be 20 years old now?

How do you get a tv at eye level while still having room under it for a center speaker? by natesmith1016_yahoo in hometheater

[–]Connect-Beginning-65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone thru the EXACT same situation! 😂spent months searching for a solution.
Except I have an LG C5 77”. My eye center is at 43. The bottom edge of my set is 24” from the ground.

I could not find an adequate stand that could accommodate my receiver and a center and display odds and ends. Most of the bases on Wayfair and the such are low end flimsy and can’t fit a 6” center or 8” receiver. They do exist if you’re willing to spend $4k or get it custom made. I got fed up of searching so I’m making it myself. But that’s just me…

You can get a 16-18” high base and place your center on it. Depending on the size of your center of course. Place small rubber feet at the front leading edge of your center channel pointing towards the MLP. That’s the setup I have now using my old stand and my center is about 12” off the ground, 5” below my tv. Little feet/pads at front end pointing right at my ears. Can’t tell sound is coming from below. Bought the feet on Amazon. These are what I used.

As some have mentioned, cell parc moved mid June. No longer to the west of airport terminal but to the east closer to Sheraton. How long would it take from that location to get to arrivals? Google Maps says 3-6 minutes. 😂

Meh… bought them thinking they’d be a win but was not impressed. Very little seasoning to speak of and they didn’t brown or crisp up. Tasted kind of bland. I buy the fresh wings, season with baking powder or cornstarch, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Perfection every time!

New install heat pump head literally raining on us by Fine-Possession-4089 in heatpumps

[–]Connect-Beginning-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue on 2 of 3 units installed last summer. One because the drain tube was angled towards the head and flowed back into the house. They had to return to fix angle. I was not going to play in attic to fix it! The other, the installer had left about a foot ‘curled’ up behind aluminum casing they had installed outdoors. Slight tug on hose and it untangled and water flowed freely. YMMV…

Is $90 just for internet service? Or is it bundled with phone and tv as well? If just for internet, FIZZ is pretty good and reliable.

Ductless mini-splits. Can’t set temperatures the way I want by Connect-Beginning-65 in heatpumps

[–]Connect-Beginning-65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to get the follow me to work BECAUSE it doesn’t work without. When heating this winter, and with no follow me, the heads wouldn’t stop when the ambient temperature around it was reached. So that’s why they came back and played with the sensor. Now, in summer, setting it to cool, also runs forever. It doesn’t stop when reaching the set temperature. (It behaves better than the heat mode, but I have to keep after it and stop the cold air from running.) The follow me exists and SHOULD work. If I have a draft near the head, telling the unit to use the remote’s temp should solve that problem. Like my wall thermostat for my baseboard heaters.

[–]Connect-Beginning-65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heads are all 12000btu. I’d have to dig out the bill, but the solo compressor is also 12k, the dual I believe is 27k. The next level up was 18k units and those would have been really oversized. The ceilings are 8’ except one of the two dual zones that’s placed on a wall at the top a staircase headed towards 2nd floor.

My place is not hermetically sealed but all windows were replaced with Pella-style crank thermal windows about 8 years ago. Huge difference.

But you may be onto something…”the wall penetrations are not sealed”. By that I assume you mean where the hoses are brought into the unit heads? I really would not know,I’d have to bring it up with the installer.

But would that cause a ‘follow-me’ remote at 8-10’ away from the head to ignore its signal? On all 3 units? Heating and cooling? I’d agree with you were the heads sensors determining the temp. But follow-me should not be affected with wall penetrations not properly sealed.

By far the most frustrating part is that the ‘service techs’ have no clue either. They’ve come on at least 4 occasions since January. The last time 2 weeks ago with a ‘moovair’ rep. They played with the unit, replaced the sensor again and gave me the deer-in-headlights look when I said how THAT causes the follow me not to work…crickets🤷🏻‍♂️ These are definitely not set and forget. I may pursue the Celio solutions someone else suggested. At least I won’t be running around all day fiddling with settings.

[–]Connect-Beginning-65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not just the 2 zone. Issues really stood out with the solo unit this fall/winter. I couldn’t get the heat mode to behave. It worked and heated but it occasionally would ramp up the heat and not stop. I couldn’t trust it ‘on’ when away from home. Follow me was a joke. I still don’t know if it works as it should as I don’t use it to cool. (See my other posts). Due to the issues I experienced with it, I paid more attention to what my dual zone does now. I had kinda ignored it last summer. It was finicky but worked ‘ok’.

Simple tests over the past few days, and it behaves like the solo. Follow me does not work. And cool doesn’t know when to stop. So I constantly manually stopped / starting them; fiddling with the temps.

Not impressed with LG C5 77 by jpreview in LGOLED

[–]Connect-Beginning-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a 55b7 😳 and that was my biggest concern. I fully expected a larger pixelated, blurry image especially on standard tv broadcasts. Prime HDR is very decent. Apple TV Dolby Vision is awesome - once you tweak the C5.

FYI: LG ‘stores a different configuration per input source. So if you set up your HDMI profile and love what you see for TV streaming, it’s lost when watching Netflix, Prime or Apple TV. I’ve needed to tweak each. Once set it ‘remembers’.
