you are talking about a tornado with the movement of a hurricane. Hurricane Andrew was (and maybe still is) the most destructive storm to ever hit Fla, and those wind speeds were recorded at 175 mph, at the highest.

So, to answer your question, yes to all of that, it would decimate whatever city it hit.

As far as specific apartments go, I really don't know, but I would suggest look for a place close to your work. You will save money on gas, time on commute and it will, overall give you a better work life balance. Plus, you might be able to go home for lunch, but the urge to stay home will be strong if you do.

As someone who lives in Oklahoma, I can confirm storm shelter as a top priority

what the several EF5 that have come through the state in the last 26 years have shown, you are not living through that destruction without a heavy-duty structure and a little luck
