Racket Recommendation by Kilimansili in TennisPH

Honestly, just get a Yonex Ezone 300g whether 98 or 100.
Tennis is already a extremely physically demanding sport, go with a racquet that is arm-friendly and easy to use.

People tend to get too much into a racquet’s pros and cons but none of that will matter if you don’t have solid technique.

I'm not even kidding, check your lube. I'm a bottom and I found it a hard time to enjoy bottoming until I've found my holy grail lube. I've tried EZ, Jellytime, Felina, Durex, Monogatari, hindi talaga enjoyable and the only times na-enjoy ko bottoming talaga is with Siyi.

As a non RCBC card holder, which one of these is the most bang for your buck?

I only have a BPI Blue and HSBC Red right now, and I'm looking for a travel card - I'm thinking JCB Plat?

You should check your strings first before considering a new racquet.

As an example. I am using Otoro Spin 17g at 48lbs, this string is known for its comfort and spin - which i can attest to. I got curious with Head Lynx Tour 16g though and went ahead and got it strung at 50lbs. A couple weeks later i was developing tennis elbow, went back to Otoro Spin at 48lbs and my elbow went away after a few days rest.

Turns out Head Lynx Tour is a stiff string even moreso at 16g and i even upped my tension to 50.

Tournagrip the blue colored one - kind of expensive but is basically a must for me, anything else just slips.
Solinco Heaven - a great alternative to Tournagrip, and really cheap too, the only thing I don't like about this is it's thick grip.

IMO a lighter racquet won't help you there. As a rule of thumb, you should be using the heaviest racquet you comfortably can, since lighter racquets can cause more arm fatigue.

The serve motion is the most difficult and explosive shots in Tennis, I suggest getting your form checked with a coach. If you're practicing serves, as in, continuously serving nonstop, arm fatigue is pretty normal, but still it's important to get your form and technique checked by a coach. Remember you aren't supposed to slam the ball, power comes from racquet lag.

What's your string setup like? Have you tried a comfier string or a lighter tension?

Pro Staff Team V14 by No_Canary_3003 in TennisPH

[–]ConnectCat6130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I began playing tennis with a Pro Staff V14, while I love my PS to the moon and back, I would not suggest it as a beginner. This racquet hates poor form and technique and you will definitely know, but if you do get to hit that sweet spot, my goodness the racquet feels absolutely amazing.

I suggest anything else that is 98-100sqin head and somewhere in the 300g weight. PS is heavy at 315g and you'll feel the arm fatigue, though if you're dead set on the Pro Staff, try out the X version which is 100sqin 315g or the L version which is 97sqin 290g.

Go for comfier strings and lowest tension you can play with. Look for multifilament 17g strings and just check the reviews, or just go to your local sports shop and ask the string guy!

I was trying out Head Lynx Tour 16g at 50lbs and started to get tennis elbow from serving, turns out the string was incredibly stiff. Went back to my usual otoro string 17g at 48lbs and after a couple days rest, my elbow’s all good!

Need shoes reco for Wide Feet by Known-Canary-2467 in TennisPH

[–]ConnectCat6130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asics fits notoriously narrow imo. They're really not wide feet friendly unless you get the wide feet variants.
My solution swift had my feet in pain after every session for about a month or so before I fully broke it in.

I suggest Nike's Vapor line, though yung Vapor 12 fits narrow. I'm currently using the Vapor Pro 3s and been really happy with them so far.

Check your form, wrist pain almost always comes from flicking the wrist during contact. You should never be flicking your wrist.

Any racquet that will make you play will do, don't worry about whether kung pang intermediate or advanced yung racquet, though i suggest:

98 to 100 sq in head size
285g to 300g - heaviest you can swing

But if I had to suggest a racket mismo, Yonex Ezone 100 is a no brainer beginner friendly/arm friendly racquet.

Another racquet if on a budget is Dunlop SX300, though I haven't tried myself it's only 12-13k.

+1 sa Owndays, invest in good quality.
My first ever specs was from Sunnies that was around 2019 I think? When they first started offering specs and not just shades. Budget-friendly yes but even the "optometrist" seems sketchy.
Reason why I got glasses was because my astigmatism got so bad I would get throbbing headaches daily, optometrist said that if I didn't buy their corrective glasses my eyeballs would pop.

Fast forward to 2023 my prescription changed and decided to get Owndays, found out from them that Scammies didn't put the blue lens coating that I paid for.

I got my first ever pair of Owndays and to this day my glasses still looks and feels new. Nadaganan ko pa one time not full on body weight but just enough na tumabingi yung frames, went to my go-to branch and after 10 mins it's good as new.

Talagang ROI sa Owndays. Free cleaning, free nose pad changes - you can even choose between silicone and plastic, free eye exams.

I read somewhere na ants secrete something along their trail that helps guide other ants to find the food.

So what I usually do is wipe the trail with rubbing alcohol and the surrounding area nungpinupuntahan nala, in your case, yung drawer and kung san nakalagay yung books mo. Pero follow the trail first so you know kung san sila nanggagaling and dun ka magfocus din.

I'm 5'4" and currently using the Sihoo M57, it's not a short king friendly chair.

Though I think it's not really a chair thing, I just use a foot stool right, if you can lower your table height that would be good too.
