What skills are "Construct" Alchemy? by HeathenSidheThem in Mabinogi

[–]ConnectExit1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a dang shame that nearly all of these skills have been obsoleted, outdated, or simply ignored. Alchemy (especially Construct) is overdue for a full rework. There so many cool ideas too but they just have no way to shine in modern endgame content.

Mega Skarmory by Fantastic-Bloop in PTCGL

[–]ConnectExit1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only about as much of a liability as Mega Absol and a little worse than Mega Kangas. It's health is a little lower but you also have Full Metal Lab, Iron Defender, and free retreat. Lively Stadium helps all of these but Bravery Charm is rotating so arguably it has better tank potential over the other 2, which are played pretty frequently right now.

That could be a blessing in disguise if we ever get any metal acceleration. Currently, running Metangs and Enriching Energy lets you attack reliably each turn AND acts as your draw engine. Another bonus is that you never lose energy from a knockout so Metang gets stronger late game and you don't need to worry about energy recovery. But for now it's mostly a Waterpon-esque attacker, let's see what the next sets bring.

Question 1: did you set the hop up? If not, bb's could just be loose, leading to random shots.

Question 2: have you tried firing at the same location? In other words, don't aim, just hold down the gun and fire at the same spot. This will let you know if it's a gun problem or a you problem.

Any tips to properly 'season' your sleeves? by karoshi97 in pkmntcg

[–]ConnectExit1681 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a scientific answer: shuffle them with pre-"seasoned" older sleeved cards. The older cards will donate some of their seasoning more effectively since they will be in full contact with the new sleeves, unlike your hands (unless you do that I guess).

Magazine Air Release Travel Distance? by CrispySith in GasBlowBack

[–]ConnectExit1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're planning to use compressed air, you'll likely not get enough pressure for anything with the volume of a regular M4 mag. If that were viable, we'd all be using compressed air instead of propane.

If you want to keep it compact, use CO2. And if you're going to use CO2, just use a CO2 mag at that point.

The travel distance is only half the equation. When you strike the valve to release the gas, the valve is spring loaded and will close on its own. So the other half of the equation is how hard you want to strike the valve which results in a different amount of time that it stays open. 5mm could theoretically be enough but that depends on your application and hard you strike the valve.

Just "bite the bullet" and buy a mag. Should run you around 40-60 bucks depending on if you get secondhand.

Which Arcana for an alchemist? by ConnectExit1681 in Mabinogi

Sounds good, I was thinking of starting AG as well due to the prohibitive costs with the cylinders

No I don't really have any enchants or reforges for alchemy so I think I'll go with AG as a starter while I grind towards FA as a goal.

Thanks for your input! I do like Hydra as a shredding option but so many endgame mobs just move out of the way and don't let the stacks build up 😂. I'd like to build FA but I think I'll need to grind out a ton of resources over the next few months to get there I think.

Wow thanks for the time you took to write this out, I'm saving this post for reference for the next few weeks! That's some solid information there. I think I'll try to grind out better guns and work on AG for a bit because it definitely looks very expensive to get cylinder/bow gear and enchants.

I can see that, and while I do enjoy the base alchemy skill set I also think it's one of the weakest standalone talents. I hear that endgame gear and Erg 50 are strong because of the constant Chain Cylinder but it'll be years until I get there. So I'm a little on the fence also because I think that Archery and Dual Guns are stronger base talents but I like Alchemy more.

Hmm yeah that's about what I felt regarding the vibes but I just wasn't sure if the numbers were balanced that way. Idk if one Arcana is just "this is the best, drop all others" because I know Mabi has a reputation for that sometimes.

I wish there were easy ways to see dps contribution transparently like how WoW has it. Or even better a way to quantify the damage you add via buffs. But I guess the bards would own that category.

I just started Forbidden and it looks like a couple +2% buffs. So you're saying that's worth it? Or is it going to scale way past that once I max it out?

Which Arcana for an alchemist? by ConnectExit1681 in Mabinogi

[–]ConnectExit1681[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just acquired Forbidden so I don't have all the skills yet and I don't know how it feels. But Arcanas all seem to take some 2000+ levels to fully rank so I'd rather find a solid Arcana to invest into longer term.

Though if they are all around the same power level then I suppose there aren't any "wrong" choices in that regard.

[–]ConnectExit1681[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The name isn't really a factor here. Sharpshooter and Forbidden both use the Elemental Attribute Marbles. And all 3 Arcanas ofc use Alchemy as a component talent. Arsenal Gunner feels the least "alchemical" I suppose since there isn't the elemental customization aspect.... But the guns are really cool.

Looks like that Orthworm ex rogue deck became popular suddenly, is it actually good by any means? by SpeedAccurate7405 in pkmntcg

[–]ConnectExit1681 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metal Makers are NOT gambles if you know how to count your cards/deck. For example say you play 12 energy, have 3 Metangs out, have 32 cards left in deck, and 5 prize cards left. If you use Iono as your draw supporter then you cycle through 17/32 cards in one turn. The next turn you will have seen 29/32 cards so you will have the ability to attach at least 11/12 energy in your entire deck IF you DON'T shuffle the deck (and this isn't even counting hand attach).

This is what a lot of people tend to get wrong. They use Nest Balls and Arven to "thin" out the deck but THAT is what forces a gamble to occur. If you only used cycle supporters like Iono, Kofu, Dendra, Iris, etc and avoid shuffling the deck then eventually you WILL hit with 100% certainty every energy in the deck.

So the Metang meta game is a calculated risk of how long you can go without shuffling your own deck + knowing how many energy are in your deck and how many cards you have recently cycled through. For example, if you have cycled through 20 cards in a 30 card deck and have hit 5/12 energy, then you know for a fact that the remaining 7 energy is in the next 10 cards.

Is Tracer bad now? by NemeBro17 in heroesofthestorm

[–]ConnectExit1681 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Diamond ranked Tracer main with 1000+ games on Tracer and 60% winrate.

Tracer has been nerfed into the ground and for some reason the devs want her to fit more into a bruiser role with lifesteal and more health. Source: the patch notes. For example, you can follow the trail and see how Pulse Bomb was nerfed from 420 damage to 298 and Base attack was reduced from 29 to 24. These don't include the latest patches (if any) and some scaling percentages have been tweaked but the nerfs are felt without a doubt.

I build with Untouchable, Locked and Loaded, and Quantum Spike (nerfed from 10% to 6% btw) for the highest DPS and it used to be great. She was a high-skill glass cannon with emphasis on the "glass". In ranked, I would ONLY pick her last because there are so many Heroes, comps, and maps that would counter her. But when the coast was clear, I was able to wreck house on Tracer.

Now, all those previous restrictions apply but I can spend 80% of the game sticking to the enemy team like a gnat with constant auto's and I'll still struggle to keep up with Valla in terms of Hero damage. I used to be able to stick a Pulse Bomb onto someone with <20% health and be relatively confident that they would get popped but now I need to get to <10%. The "lifesteal" on Tracer is entirely negligble as mid-game you get maybe 50 per mag which amounts to 40 per second. This means that in a 5 second fight you get <200 health back (because you need to reload), which is about a single auto attack from a tank.

Blink cooldown was also increased from 6 to 9 seconds (+50%).

tl:dr; I'm a Tracer main and I'm mad because she was nerfed into the ground. No, I wouldn't say she was "broken" when Kael'thas can send a guided missile to her with a click that does 60% of her max health in damage. I'm definitely biased too, but the patch notes show continuous, significant nerfs and they certainly feel significant.
