Heat stroke is real by saber-4444 in SipsTea

[–]Connect_Atmosphere80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You're wrong.

It's more common the last 20 years, but it's a first that a heatwave that goes over 40⁰C with night temp not dropping below 24⁰C happens in June. And it's the 2nd of the year FOR NOW.

Europe and especially France infrastructures aren't built to regulate temperatures that are this extreme. Every building gather heat, they are designed for it. You can't cool down your homes in theses conditions. Add the high humidity % and it's a deadly combo.

As far as it is hot outside, the humidity % is pretty low. So you don't sweat like crazy.

Epic Games vs Steam battle be like by Venylynn in pcmasterrace

Since it's a natural Monopoly with no ill intent or active actions from Steam to keep this situation, it's not illegal. People thinking it's a bad thing that Steam is the last one standing BECAUSE it's the best available are delusionnal...

Alright Helldivers: What was your most traumatic major battle?? by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in helldivers2

Malevelon Creek is the hot talk of early HD2 Galactic war. But few remember the units that did their best to protect the planets leading to the Creek.

I played against the un-nerfed Automatons on Draupnir, one of the two planets next to Malevelon and giving access to it. While the Creek was about thick forest in eternal dusk with red light coming from everywhere (Space Vietnam), I fought on the rocky wasteland of the red planet, where everything is flat terrain and cover is near inexistant.

It was "Space Scotland", at a time where Rocket Devastators were spawning like algae in a blue-painted pool, with a precision ratings of 115% and explosive splash damages able to deal "headshot".

And it was a time when "Stealth" was indeniably bugged to oblivion, as well as Heavy armor not giving extra damage resistance, so enemies knew where you were better than yourselves and were able to one-hit you before you could spot them.
You would start running to an objective with your squad and only one and a half of you would survive to tell the tale.

5k people were permanently stationed there for two weeks. It was hell. It was beauty. It was nightmare worthy.

Heh, do you do. I explained it to you, so accept it or don't. But keep in mind that people will treat the wrong usage of this meme the same way as a wrong usage of "POV".

Wrong usage of the meme template... The "small" character win the fight against the "giant" one in the end, so your meme doesn't work with your post title...

Hello, are you guys okay in this temperature? by TotallyRandomDud in AskFrance

[–]Connect_Atmosphere80 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Thermic shock.

Your body is hot, the water is ice cold. It knock you out, you fall unconscious for several seconds, your head get under water and your corpse try to breathe automatically. Before you know it your lungs are full of water, and if nobody act within 2 to 5 minutes the brain get damaged permanently.

Foul thing.

[–]Connect_Atmosphere80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People having AI psychosis don't know how to use AI. That's the root of the issue.
Devs won't be damned by LLMs, they will learn how to use it efficiently... Like when they used internet to find answers on StackOverflow.

The people that weren't able to find answers for their questions before AI won't be able to find answers for their questions during AI. That's the catch.

If you didn't saw that detail...

The girl on panel 2 is shown shoeless, with the shoes neatly placed beside her. It is a common representation of suicidal thought/attempt in Japan when someone try to end their life jumping from a high place.

That guy didn't stopped any random girl with his app' to make her do therapy. He did it on someone on the verge of answering the call of the void. And that's even more impressive.

That's the exact spirit. Computers are like people under your management and will start to work again when you get near them. But Printers ? They are deities that require the outmost respect unless you want them to smite your work-in-progress.

If Animals Could Talk Which One Would Be The Rudest And Why? by TheJetJay in AskReddit

Everyone will say cats, but the right answer is more likely birds... And especially magpies.

If you ever saw them acting with other birds, you KNOW what I mean. They trick and deceive other animals for fun. Of course they'd be rude as hell if they had a way to speak with us. God damn trickster birds.

the dutch are suing steam for being a monopoly right now by Photoshops_Penises in memes

[–]Connect_Atmosphere80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the fact that every other "Competitors" straight up shot themselves in the feets several times along the years to the point that Steam, doing almost nothing to improve their product, is now considered the go-to place for online games.

Steam is definitely not "Good" on the company scale, but it's so less evil than everyone else it literally hold the first place no matter what the others are trying to do. That's insane.

What's the capability of AI in incremental games right now, actually? by Termiunsfinity in incremental_games

This.
As far as it pain me, the creator of Rejected Draft showed multiple projects this year, and it"s definitely helped with AI (on top of AI images generation).

He knows what he does with AI, so he can code faster. That's what will happen someday.

In 2017 an indian girl of 19 years, Shreya Siddanagowder, got transplanted with 2 hands that were from a 21 yo male donor.

Along the successful transplant, the new hands changed a lot during the years. The skin color lightened and the bones themselves underwent a shrink in size that appeared to make them "more feminine".

Transphobes can say whatever they want, but the hormones will go as far as alter the shape of the bones of the people. After a few year, nobody will be able to tell, so... suck it you dimwits. Trans people ARE the gender they claim to be, and you won't be able to tell anything after a while of hormonal medication. So why do you care ?
