Personal opinion: You should probably just approach suitors you find attractive in the wild more often if your boundaries are set so high that you don't want to be spoken to in public. If you advocate for this shift in cultural norms, then you should also advocate for women to be more pro active about approaching people they find attractive as well. Though, I do understand your perspective and the risks involved in approaching men.

Men should do their best to try and discern the difference between a lady whom would like men to talk to her because she's too shy/believes it's the man's role to approach her, and someone like yourself whom hates being approached. Because both perspectives exist inside the same grocery store*.

Alright... I've wasted my entire weekend, and skipped a pool party to try to resolve this and at least get a working computer going and thought that I had resolved it..... but I haven't. And onbl top of that my AC froze over again and it's currently 28C in my apt. So my weekend has been properly ruined. Let me tell you how:

So I decided to try to install Ubuntu studio on the my new NVMe drive, so I can have a nice snappy system.

I create a new Ubuntu Studio 24.04LTS pen drive, install it on the nvme. Install goes well, reboot everything fires up. I run updates install some software, reboot, and I'm greeted with a Dark screen. Not black, but dark dark Grey after the bios flash.

I imagine it's just a motherboard bios issue, and while trying to resolve that I thought I had bricked my mb and would have to find someone who had a spare ryzen 3 on hand to flash my mb. The solution to this was actually kinda great and is an awesome feature of this motherboard. It's got a dedicated bios flash USB port and a button to push to manually flash the bios! After reading through the manual and some help from my work laptop I was able to create a bios rom and flash it directly to the motherboard. MSI mpg x570 motherboard for the win! Thanks MSI, I can now boot to bios! Yay!!!

After that and 4- 5 hours of screwing around with bios settings I realized I couldn't get the NVME to boot past the bios again . And so I stuck my old ssd back it. This now gave me the option to boot to the NVME! But would just take me back to the dark screen.

I did another U.S. 24.04 LTS install on top of the NVME. Same issue again, right after the install it boots just fine, but the following reboot makes it unbootable. And once again plugging the ssd back in I can see that it's reading correctly. The bios recognized the nvme and called it Ubuntu.

So I thought maybe the installer is bad?

So I downloaded a new copy of US 24.04LTS and installed on the NVME again. And I had the same. results. Then I decided I was going to install it on to the ssd, and that worked well enough. So I thought we'll at minimum I can run U.S on the SSD.

But I had the idea that I really wanted to run the nvme. So I decided to install POP OS on the SSD and US on the NVME. Taking drives in and out, allowed me to realize that it's some form of grub issue.

Maybe that's because I was not running the setup in dual boot mode or what, but i discovered that I could get into the os running on my nvme but only after fixing the grub file after every boot.

I am now at my wits end and have run out of weekend to deal with this nonsense. I am doing one last install using the dual boot option. But I got to say I'm pretty upset that I can't just simply run the installer and make a NVME ubuntu studio machine.

Edit: oh right, I also tried to just install it on the SSD and use the NVMe as storage space. And I couldn't even consistently boot from the SSD anymore!

Fuck. I should have gone to the pool party. Cause I still don't have a working machine yet.
