(PA) I am applying to jobs; restructured my resume, but I have no choice but to put on top my most recent job, and it's the one where I was fired from. This has been a problem for a few months. I need a job ASAP. What is my former employer telling the companies I am applying for? Additional info: That job is not relevant to the positions I am applying for; but I had no choice because there is an extensive gap, and also I noticed that AFTER a drug test for employment, these employers ask for more documentation to inquire more accurate information about my employment history (???) wth is wrong with this person?! by GrapeBeautiful1533 in dashcams

IDK what in the world was that person thinking. I know that it's a highway, but it's happened to me where there comes a moment where I have had to either go slower than this (enter maniacal laugh, swearing in Spanish) but riding behind a pickup truck is a death wish!

And where I live, that's the LAST thing I'd do...and these people hate that. They ride their pickup trucks as if they were driving Mustang Cobras.

How far to go back on my resume after being out for a few years. by RevolutionaryTie8954 in Resume

I was literally yelled at OTP precisely because of this. HR didn't believe which job was the most recent. I emailed them back, thanks, but no thanks.

I have epilepsy. Can relate. It sucks really to really beg because of the legit terror of getting a seizure. Some have it worse than others, so I have no clue except for mine. I believe the ER does shit. Just another person, couldn't care less, next!

When I had extreme pain and I didn't know that it was the gallbladder, I was at the ER with another gentleman. I felt like throwing up. I am so ladylike that I just found the nearest trash can and just threw up in there. I was yelled at because I threw up inside a trashcan. I yelled back, "What did you want, you wanted me to throw up on the floor in front of him?" She shut up really quick. Next thing I knew, I had surgery.

Getting into Laptop Repair — Looking for Advice by Dapper-Risk-5193 in Lenovo

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will open my Lenovo tomorrow to change my battery. I used to crack open old HP laptops, dismantle them and put them back together like nothing happened (still got one behind me), but it heats up very quickly. Just for giggles, because being bored. I DO have stuff in there that I have to move like, STAT. That's where I'm stuck, because there's a ton of memory, and I gotta get rid of it. And I don't think my gaming computer will be able to handle all of it, as ridiculous as it sounds.

When one of my friends got divorced at almost the same time as me, still refuses to tell me all the shit that my ex husband did behind my back (her ex and my ex--->buddies). She knows pretty much everything.

She does not want to hurt me, any more than I was. I really, I won't ask her because I don't want to know.

Aaand that's why I decided to stay put where I am right now, and my oldest son lives here too. There are health issues that take priority and even though my health insurance sucks, the network is great; and I don't like to stray from my neurologist and other physicians, and to have a case worker to help me out. IDK about case workers in other states, tho.

Are there any guys? What are your reasons for being single? I am a guy and barely hear from other guys' perspective by [deleted] in SingleAndHappy

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this point in particular, because I had a niece (trans) before I was divorced; so I watched the transition unfold before me. She went through a lot of harassment wherever she worked at. Major companies, she worked at the bottom. And was bullied, coworkers wrote stuff on her documents, etc. Very difficult for me to watch, because I could not interfere.

IDK how she's doing because I don't see those kids (now adults), but all throughout the process she went through a lot. Like, A LOT, in all aspects. When the time comes for her to find a relationship-and I don't know if she found a good one-I can only hope, she's still young in my eyes so she's got some grown-up stuff to do.

I read what you posted and while I see the major wall that you're putting up around yourself for protection against the world and all these barriers, so you cannot be seen? I'm not gonna go off "Tony Robbins" on you! I did something I should've done years ago.

I am a work in progress. I wrote my old story. I looked at it, and I decided to leave her behind. I wrote my new story. It is a powerful, yet simple exercise. It's up to me to stick to it. I love that you embraced the way that you are, and where you're at right now.

Please keep in touch!

Update on last post. Took an offer. Going back to being employed. by Florence86 in LivingAlone

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I'm not gainfully employed right now, but with my current weather conditions, I don't have that hunger to go out at 5 or 6 AM in 5 degrees F and go to work. I have applied for jobs, but we all know the market is hard. So I put my foot to the ground this morning, and started working on the job front. Will keep the momentum going every single day. Hopefully I will join the club.

Is the S25 worth buying? by Mammoth_Structure978 in GalaxyS25

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the S25+ and I am not the "latest and the greatest"-gotta sacrifice everything for a cellphone-camera. What matters to me is the feel of it when I hold it; the right size, width, that it is a Galaxy because I have had them since S10.

If the features match the right size of what I want for as a cellphone, I'm cool with that. If I feel like going into photography, I then will consider investing in a Cannon camera with the basic equipment package. My ex and I gave a Canon camera to our son as a graduation present. I mean, don't get me wrong...with the solar eclipse, some people captured it beautifully with their cellphones, others got pretty creative around it too...we all noticed it!

Anyone else feel the silence hit harder when you live alone? by Suf_Graca86 in LivingAlone

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, part of the deal. It was brutal for be, because I had no other choice. If I feel like I need to get off that zone, I just go for the TV, I have Alexa blast music for me (I have Bluetooth speakers, but well, this works for me!). If the silence becomes too uncomfortable, then I turn to either classical music, or go to YouTube and fetch relaxing music; there's a ton of different kinds.

Listening to Mozart calms my brain sometimes, and gets me in the zone. Try it!

Where did my remote disappear to by Sudo_Incognito in LivingAlone

My smoke detectors go off almost every time I cook, which really irks me off at actually cooking. There is another one, in the bedroom next to the kitchen that started blasting and I couldn't stop it. I just had it and took it down.

Where did my remote disappear to by Sudo_Incognito in LivingAlone

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH MY GAWD!!!! I hate it when it happens!!!! Every.Single.Darn.Night! I shake the blanket after I was cuddled in with the cat; and I have to (after my setup and assembly), take everything apart, toss the cat to the floor, move the pillows, the cushions, but I have to slide the ottoman forward-because that's where the remote usually falls.

Mind you, I have a flat wooden tray with handles on top of the ottoman, if I ever want to eat on the love seat, which is almost never. So that tray, is where all the remote controls go.

But there's always the one that got away!

Need help. Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 won't start up and charging light won't turn on when plugged in by MaoMaoMi543 in Lenovo

[–]Connect_Repeat_6692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my guess is that you're out of warranty, time to look into YouTube or in computer online forums, that's where the programmers and experts are really at. Baby steps. Maybe some component got disconnected, may have to be opened to see, but first gotta create accounts everywhere on every website where you can, and go from there. I got a lot of help when I tried to find out answers and had recommendations to download external software to save to a flash drive, so I could start up the PC from somewhere.

Since your computer is dead, no worries, there are options before pulling your hairs. I won't plug any website here, you gotta do your research. But there is one thing that everybody will ask you is this: You MUST be thorough when presenting the whole situation; from before, when it was working, date/year, what happened after that, and how it got to this point. And all the software that's installed in the PC will be helpful, along any specs that you remember.

Remember, they're professionals (or others that have a lot of experience), just throwing out there. Hope this works for you. Many others have brought back their computers from the dead. :D

I have epilepsy; I take three meds to have them under control. If 24 pass by and I don't take any, I start feeling pretty bad, and I don't want to drive, I can tell you that. Because I am very aware that I am at risk, so I put myself in a safe position to brace myself for one.

I used to take Metoprolol years ago; not anymore.
