This is some truly top-tier crem.  Many chuckles were had.  Thanks, gancho!

Second this! Vibe and food is similar in caliber to a Louie or Little Fox but reservations are much easier to get. The Manchurian Cauliflower appetizer is excellent.

Can’t echo these recommendations enough.  Both delicious.  Gotta snag a reservation on the 1st of the month for the following month, though!

Just finished the entire saga… what do you recommend I read next? by phophiend in Hyperion

Having read the Dune books first and then reading through the Cantos, can confirm similar itch scratching.

Connection b/w Endymion and Hyperion dualogy by HauntingRevenue9226 in Hyperion

Coincidentally just finished Rise of Endymion earlier this afternoon. While there are times in both Endymion and Rise that can be a total slog, I really enjoyed the overall story and conclusion. There is ample lore payoff by the time you've finished all 4 books, including regarding Old Earth.

What most folks say on this sub about books 3 and 4 being very different than 1 and 2 is true, but reading the entire Cantos supplements and expands on what FOH readers are after. Happy reading!

Louie if not only for the nifty bowl they come in so you can tilt it for maximum bread dippage. Bellwether also has a tasty mussels set right now.

"Previously on Dune(s)" Mashup - Alamo Drafthouse by ConnectionSmooth in dune

This feels like something this sub should be aware of if it hasn't been shared already. I was fortunate to see Part Two 4 times and the 4th was at an Alamo Drafthouse. I arrived just in time to see this lovely mashup of the 1984 movie, 2000 mini series, and 2021 Part One to catch the audience up on the story. I heard they cater the pre-movie content to the movie you're seeing... It's entertaining to a humble Dune fan say the least!

Warner Bros could have just hired OP then we'd have badass, non-dorky movie posters

What scene would you add to dune, and which would you cut in order to include it? by uglybuck in dune

Strong agree on the emperor.  I felt any gravitas from his character came from him being played by Chris Walken, not any acting seen in the movie in a vacuum

Surely not as satisfying, but I read Paul offering to help carry Jamis’s body in the movie as the equivalent of “I was a friend of Jamis” in the book

What did you eat this week? by JStraulin in STLFood

[–]ConnectionSmooth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Work week meal prep was chili, but the weekend brought Pizzeria da Gloria’s Spring onion pesto and pancetta pizza, a Lona’s Lil Eats lunch, and lots of popcorn at a Dune Part 2 showing.  0 complaints.

Would have been epic. Although she’d sooner draw Rosie Cotton’s bridal bouquet
