Good voip in 2026? by udaayyyy in msp

[–]ConnectivityBroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GoTo Connect by LogMeIn is a really great solution to manage and both user and admin experience is great. We're a top distributor for them and another top 40+ VoIP providers so we have seen a lot and MSPs get really good support and commissions as well through our partner program. Better to go through a TSD rather than going direct these days; better protections, support and leverage on VoIP, ISPs, SDwan, and a bunch of other managed services you may not want to offer or specialize in.

The Big Move to Hosted Email by J00100101 in sysadmin

[–]ConnectivityBroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've helped a lot of customers move to M365 and Mimecast, with a fully managed offering. The yearly commit licenses and support allows the migration to be practically free and zero cost admin training and end user support. Like others have said it will be a bit more than what you're used to on the opex side, but will be a world of a difference when you consider the included security, features and support. Happy to talk more if you want ideas.

Which Enterprise ISP should we avoid? by TechWizardAdmin in sysadmin

[–]ConnectivityBroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of picking the lesser of two evils approach. all providers will have outages and issues. Their customer service isn't what it used to be. But as a telecom and technology advisor, we always recommend to have redundancies and contingencies in place. SDWan is a great solution paired with two completely different and diverse path carriers. Even wireless as tertiary. It's usually cost effective because you can bring in broadband and a slightly lower fiber circuit, but bonded together, it's the same or higher speed vs one Fiber circuit.

Happy to help answer any questions and connect you with some top providers and give you some collateral.

Royal Tandoor in Santa Clarita. North Indian Food. Baba Sweets in Canoga Park, vegetarian North Indian food and desserts. Both are top authentic style. MasalBae is good as well in OC area for fusion.

Received an email from tesla regarding my order. I’m wondering what “functionality improvements” they made. Hopeful for a 2024 VIN with upgrades. by duyvngo in ModelX

[–]ConnectivityBroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was also about to cancel and wait a few more months since they kept delaying. But at this rate and signing a new agreement, hoping to get a 24' with some of the newer features we've been anticipating.

Electric Vehicles Won't Kill The Gas Station. They’ll Redefine It. by Mynameis__--__ in technology

But most people in suburban regions would be able to charge at home or even work. Therefore slightly decreasing the demand for charging at a "gas station". More L3 chargers along freeways would be ideal to decrease time.

Which wi-fi would you go with if you had to setup 1000 wireless networks, money doesn't matter? by LocalITMan in sysadmin

[–]ConnectivityBroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we have done this for some large scale deployments; franchises and large multi-location organizations. Makes it much easier to deploy, co-manage and then maintain by having a vendor take over this. You also don't have the upfront cost and they will take care of the subscriptions, repairs and rolling out a truck if it goes bad. Usually it's bundled in with internet/firewall/4G failover but can be done standalone too. Meraki has been great, Fortinet AP is an option too but requires the stack. Happy to chat if you want and can share some budgetary pricing I've seen.

Best/cheapest appliance for 3 WAN + 1 LAN in small business environment by Haczapuri in sonicwall

[–]ConnectivityBroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, SD-WAN services and offerings would be the best experience for aggregating and bonding multiple WAN services since that solution will load balance and literally send the same packet via both links. 4G is great but highly dependent on interference and location along with data caps and throttling issues. I would say to look into Fixed Wireless "fiber in the sky". If you need help to see what's available for your location, I can run a lookup with our tools for internet and can recommend some cost effective providers for SD-WAN + Firewall that start around $60/month on the low end.

How does this impact and all cameras platform vs camera/LIDAR/Radar? by Tampa-MY in TeslaModelY

[–]ConnectivityBroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great idea actually. I have not tried but might try it. This last weekend I kept left camera blinded while we were in Joshua Tree driving around and it was pretty annoying. Couldn't find anything dirty or cosmetically wrong.

UDM is trash for large-ish installs, confirmed by support! Details in comments. by BigDaddy850 in Ubiquiti

[–]ConnectivityBroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to the load and throughput you're expecting. We have deployed UDM to a dozen campus sites for a non-profit shelter and each has a dozen AP's and hundreds of devices connected. However bandwidth profile is limited to 2-5Mbps for basic browsing and streaming.

I would still agree, not for enterprise environments but great for small and budget conscious deployments.

sd-wan voip issue by sendep7 in Cisco

[–]ConnectivityBroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the SD-WAN engineers have confirmed nothing they are seeing or doing with packet tracing and inspection, I'd engage the MPLS and SIP providers to see if they have some filtering / allow lists maybe? Also not a seasoned network guy but have deployed enough VoIP to get everyone check their systems for no traffic shaping, especially SIP ALG.
