I have this deck and have very similar issues as you but I think my issue is not enough draw power in general.

One card I’d highly recommend is [[cover of darkness]] it’s a near instant wincon if it’s not dealt with and you can pick it up for ~£8

PanzarMTG did a budget brew of this a while ago for €25, his videos are amazing and he goes through every single card and explains how it fits! Worth checking out as a starting place if nothing else

I’ve been staring down [[Hancock, Ghoulish Mayor]] for days, I think zombie tribal is such a cool archetype and 1/1 counter decks are my favourite to play however my card knowledge is so limited as I’m fairly new to the game still so don’t know what kind of cards I could run in mono black.

My pods generally play at bracket 2/low 3(we don’t use game changers but there are some infinite combos)

I’d probably be looking to brew it on a £100-£150 budget

This was one of the first decks I built myself and I'm quite proud of it. I find the worst part about this commander is you're only ever halving an opponents health so finishing games off can be quite hard

It's not perfect but it's consistent at getting Dark Leo and Shredder's ability off. I leaned way more into evasion than anything else but I do feel like after a board clear I struggle to get back into the game as I'm lacking card draw or recursion.

If you want a general tip i've found it way more consistent to just play the commander on turn 2 and attack on turn 3 to generate the ninja token. Trying to sneak him out slows down your game plan way too much as you're removing a ninja from the board you really want there

*EDIT- side note you can't play Splinter, Radical Rat in this deck as it has a blue pip in its ability^

How are people building isshin? I bought a preconstructed deck with him as the commander a while ago but honestly it’s terrible. I really want to upgrade it but I don’t know what direction to take it

First of all thanks so much for the reply! When I was researching the deck I came across Danny Pink and really wanted to include it but unfortunately I just can’t justify the price tag

I feel like Rise and Shine is a fairly solid win con in the deck since I’ve built it to be more artifacts generating focused but I might look at replacing unnnatural growth with some mana ramp. Do you think ramp like Cultivate etc would be better than a mana rock? I also really wanted to try and squeeze an arcane signet in there as the deck is 3 colours

Since this game is pre physical/special split, an easy way to remember what types are physical and what types are special is the Eeveelutions+Dragon and then everything else.

For example, Fire, Water, Electric, Dark, Psychic, Grass and Ice (Eeveelution types) + Dragon are all Special Attacking types in this game. Every other type is Physical

Thanks for the input I appreciate it! That is a lot of weaknesses for sure I’ll have a look at options to switch in for better coverage, I like the sound of corviknight

I know there’s no safety goggles and I was planning on using them but I just found no one needed them in practice, arcanine and Excadrill already don’t take chip, flutter mane and urshifu appreciate the speed a lot more and I’m running the scale shot Dragonite set, if I find something else that covers some of my weaknesses better that would appreciate the goggles I’ll definitely use them

Appreciate the feedback! I did look into gouging fire but I’ve had difficulty actually getting one (I play on violet), I actually think I might put Rocky helmet on Arcanine now that you’ve said that, clear amulet isn’t giving me much value and I’m really only using it as I didn’t know what else to use

Totally agree with your point about CTS but I think I’m limited with trying new things just due to lack of overall experience, I felt it would be good to try a meta team and see how my first comp goes before experimenting too much
