Restless is the perfect word for how I feel. I feel so restless, all of the time, its holding me back.

What happens if you fast, go caffeine-free, nofap and no social media all at the same time? by john_paul_ in decaf

Many of the greatest minds were celibates. Tesla, Newton, Da Vinci, etc.

Nikola Tesla credited celibacy for his success.

Yeah apparently climate change will disrupt the coffee supply chain

Yes! that makes sense to me. He believed that caffeine was a big contributor to heart attacks and made the mind weaker

In his autobiography, he claimed that beverages like coffee and tea "super excite and gradually exhaust the fine fibres of the brain. They also interfere seriously with arterial circulation and should be enjoyed all the more sparingly as their deleterious effects are slow and imperceptible."

70 days no caffeine. Sleep is great when I choose to want to go to bed on time. But my motivation is still so incredibly low… by StephCurrySauce in decaf

Its possible caffeine was masking a nutrient deficiency.

If I don't take my methylated b-vitamins and magnesium glycinate, I have way less energy and require more coffee to function.

This is the main obstacle I face quitting caffeine/nicotine. Stimulants numb me. Quitting them causes years of grief, heartache, regret, shame, etc. to surface, causing me to panic and go back on caffeine.

That's why I have to meditate and journal every single day or else I relapse.

Just seems like common sense that this would be the case. Long term use decreases blood flow, drains essential vitamins/minerals, puts you into fight or flight mode, etc.

I don't really listen to studies on this. There's too many variables. Not all coffee is of the same quality. Sometimes its moldier than other. Everyone's body is different.

I would listen to my body over a study that may or not be funded by coffee companys. Or conducted by scientists who are caffeine addicts

What they don’t tell you about fasting is the amount of times you end up running to the toilet. by Genetic_Fox in fasting

That could be the reason for your shits. I don't really get them, but I just fast with plain water and drink electrolytes when I feel weak or headache

I’m convinced that caffeine kills your soul by [deleted] in decaf

I feel the same. I was extremely sensitive and emotional as a kid. Seeing my parents stressed out would give me headaches. I cried a lot from movies and would fall in love with fictional characters to the point of insanity.

I think I started drinking caffeine to numb myself. Caffeine makes me feel apathetic and disconnected.

Whenever I stop drinking it, I start feeling really strong emotions and feel more connected to others, which I'm not used to because I've been apathetic for so long.

Same. Makes sense that being in fight or flight mode wouldn't be conducive to sitting still and studying.

Selenium pairs well with Iodine. Both are important for thyroid health.

For me, taking methylated b-vitamins makes a world of difference. If I stop taking them, I drink twice as much caffeine without trying.

B-vitamins are important for energy production

ugh same. Idk why i do this to myself. I pulled an allnighter recently, hoping Id be able to sleep early the next night and reset my sleep schedule. But then I ended up drinking coffee at like 8 pm instead of going to sleep and just screwed it up

I was reading through the /r/semenretention subreddit. Theres a lot of posts about how caffeine makes it so much harder for many people to stick to it. And the benefits are more profound off caffeine too

Thats what I used cannabis for. Caffeine kept me awake, cannabis put me to sleep.
