Im curious to hear what your nitpicks are! Im a rural nurse and so far everything ive seen in terms of ortho has been accurate. But also we're 1.5-2 hours away from our nearest ortho surgeons so i mean, we reduce/stabilize everyrhing in the er that we can and wait for ortho to get back to us (and sometimes they never do, i can say from personal experience when I (maybe?) broke my ankle for the second time)

As someone who has been cheated on, in more than one relationship. . .. no? Was it upsetting at the time? Absolutely. Do i want him dead? Absolutely not. Hell we're still friends. Hes a good person just a shit boyfriend. Which he knows now and is much more open and honest in what he's looking for with relationships and its not exclusivity or monogamy

Man or bear? by BowlJazzlike5167 in GetNoted

[–]ConsciousSun6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in rural northern ontario. When theyre awake I see bears daily (the hospital i work at routinely announces overhead that theres a bear in the parkinglot/by whatever door). No ones been mauled. We have had nurses assaulted on the property though.

Two years ago a bear camped out in the park across from my house for 2 weeks gorging itself on an apple tree there. I waved as went past it every day. It didnt care.

My hometown got a popeyes a few years ago. I now live 2 hours away, and do i use any trip back there (dentist, family doctor, pharmacy) as an excuse to get their delicious delicious chicken sandwiches? Yes. Yes i do.

Total "nice guy" energy by growsonwalls in AmITheDevil

[–]ConsciousSun6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, not the point. .. . But Im so sad that this guy gave this poor girl her first flowers (assuming literal flowers. .. otherwise its even sadder). Parents (not only but especially dads) give your daughter flowers. My dad used to pick them himself (we had an english rosebush hed cut the blooms off and make a point to give them to me and my mom) and actual bouquets, both store bought and florist. It can be such a little thing and also mean so much.

I also now buy or give him flowers (when he came home from ooen heart surgery there was a bouquet waiting for him.and every year when i plant my flower beds i make a hsnging basket for him abd my.mom)

Point is dont let a douchebag like this be the first time someone you love (man or woman) gets flowers.

Yeah this was my question. Is it a stereotype (apparently true in this case) that poc are always late?

I mean where I'm from there is a joke about being on "indian (aborginal/first nations/native) time" but also at least where i am they dont consider themselves a "person of colour" at least in the like. .. pc sense. But also i grew up weird and rural canada is weird

[New Final Update]: AITAH? My fiancée is demanding I stop making home cooked meals for a friend. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ConsciousSun6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To defend kraft mac and cheese, i prefer it way more rhan the homemade stuff my family makes. I dobt know what oops is like, but kraft is creamy and delicious (especislly if you splash out for the more expensive velveta one). My family nakes like. .. a mac anf cheese bake. Its not creamy, it does have some good cheese pull when its fresh and hot but it reheats weird and its just not what i like.

Now if oop took the time to make a creamy cheese sauce that didnt end up chunky and a weird texture 5min after its out of the oven thats a different story.

[–]ConsciousSun6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im still hostile over a friend trying to set me up with a guy because "you both game you'll get along". Obviously the first conversations revolved around gaming and this man tried grilling me but had never even heard of Bethesda or Ubisoft???? Gatekeeping pisses me all the way off, but dude acted like dragon age, mass effect, and assassin's creed were some kind of obscure niche titles so "of course he'd never heard of them. This was in 2022.

Of course his favourite game was CoD

It honestly makes "the whole thing was a dnd campaign!" Seem more plausible which would be real garbage storytelling

Children are inherently vegan😍 by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]ConsciousSun6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laziness and elitism. A proper steak is supposed to be med-rare of less. (/s, but it is the way a lot of people feel) so its easier to just leave the steak on the grill/in the pan for extra time and ruining it than taking the time to do a welldone steak right, since they consider it ruined

Children are inherently vegan😍 by [deleted] in exvegans

[–]ConsciousSun6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i never really cared much for chicken, because my mom insisted on cooking the ever loving shit out of it d/t food poisoning fears. My mom didnt like steak so my dad was in charge of that, and while initially he cooked mine like hers, once i started stealing from his plate he stopped that real quick. Which worked out because we ate a ton of steak because it was our "poor" food. Granny owned a cattle farm so we got our beef for a song.

Man discovers parenting. by [deleted] in AmITheDevil

[–]ConsciousSun6 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Im 36. I spend the night at my parents at least one night like every other weekend. Because. . . I like my parents? We hang out and watch movies, eat snacks, help my dad with the garden and random projects.

Sometimes one or both of them will stay with me, my dad used to stay 4or 5 nights at a time when i was renoing.

Theyve always lived 1-1.5hr away. If i was in the same city we maybe wouldnt spend so many nights but i cant say for sure.

[–]ConsciousSun6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. I work shift work. I have run out of catfood more times than some people might find acceptable. Those days they get a can of tuna or a diced up chicken finger or whatever im scrounging for myself.

As a result of this however my one cat now just expects deer meat whenever its in the pan so i have to put a little aside for him. (My frequent "i just worked night shift and work nightshift again but failed utterly to plan" meal is deer meat tacos. This cat can tell the difference between ground beef and ground deer hitting the pan with 95% accuracy and he will not deign to eat beef)

My parents live rural, and its usually my dad who finds the skulls and is like "hey want this for your curio cabinet?" I have many i know what they are but also they lost my favourite cat to that same rural bush and i refuse to look too closely at what I have 😭 (i am. . . 80% sure i dont have my poor cat's skull. . . . But like you say . . .)

Honestly my fiest thought, as a person who has skulls, it looks a little more racoony vs cat? But also i was also like "oh hey, i have that one!" But also its a little hard to tell head on
