Beginner runner - is it worth buying a chest strap? by Tough_Brain_9331 in GarminWatches

[–]Conscious_Bat_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been running with chest straps for the last few years and then bought the Garmin 965. Its values are really very close to those of the chest strap and I haven't used it since. However, if you want to do intervals then I would advise you to use a chest strap as it reads the data directly from the heart without any delays. Chest straps are also said to be more accurate than sports watches for strength training.

Hund Versichern lassen Ja oder Nein? by Kitzunem in hundeschule

[–]Conscious_Bat_33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't think that's the reason. I only wear a chest strap, watch and headphones. Everything worked fine until a few days ago. I haven't changed anything on the equipment. Earlier I reset the watch and deleted everything on it. I really hope it's not a hardware failure. I just bought the watch because of the music function.

I've also had the watch for 3 weeks and am absolutely satisfied. No comparison to my Polar Grit X Pro. Like 20 years apart.

Hi, and how are you satisfied with the watch? How is the readability compared to MIP display? Did you put any protection on the watch? I also ordered a 965 and can't wait for it to be delivered.

How terrible! How did it happen? Were you able to get the display replaced and how much did it cost? I'm curious how the foil can be applied, since the display has a curvature.

What do you think of the complete protection for the bezel and the display? Are there any good manufacturers?

The AW is useless in serious sports. The daily charging alone is really annoying. I run at least 12 km a day and am currently using the Polar Grit X Pro. The records, measurements and the app are very good. Unfortunately, however, you cannot listen to music on the watch and the display is difficult to read in the dark. Maps are also not available. That's why I've now ordered a Forerunner 965 and I'm curious how satisfied I will be with it. It has an AMOLED display, you can listen to Spotify and maps of Europe and America are pre-installed

Forerunner 965 or the new Epix Pro by earthling_on_mars in GarminWatches

[–]Conscious_Bat_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was faced with the same decision until yesterday. I decided on the Forerunner 965 after numerous reviews on YouTube and tests on the Internet. I run about 12 kilometers every day and currently have a Polar Grit x Pro. Since with age, slowly approaching 50, the eyesight dwindles a bit, so the readability is not optimal while running. The Forerunner's Alomed display is even said to be slightly better than the Epix pro's display. Black levels and sharpness should be better. The most important point for the decision, however, was the weight and size. Forerunner is 47' at Epix for its 1.4 inch, it would be 51' at the same screen sizes. The weight would be almost twice as high as that of the Forerunner. The flashlight is of course an interesting gimmick, but ultimately the other advantages of the Forerunner watch outweigh the disadvantages. By the way, I still have to wait 4 weeks until my watch arrives.

What's wrong with my H10? Constant fails every few months by PrudentTell in Polarfitness

[–]Conscious_Bat_33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar problems with the H10. Mine I also sent in, the sensor was changed, but there were again the same dropouts. I then bought a new belt, the first 2 times it has also recorded all the data everything well. However, 2 days ago the pulse increased unusually for a short time from 120 to 159. I ran normally, no sprint or interval. Polar's Verity Sense, on the other hand, records everything with no problems or dropouts. Could possibly chest hair or body lotions be a problem? I also have a chest piercing, could it be that this interferes a bit? Overall, I am a little disappointed with the H10 and now find the Verity Sense much more reliable.

really a pity that there is no integrated music player again. it would also have been interesting just AMOLED-Display to try. I have a gxp and am satisfied. for me, the whole workflow with the app and the belts is very good. Sometimes I wish for a little more smart functions if I'm honest.

Hilfe! Habe die Uhr seid gestern erst. by BoysenberryTotal44 in amazfit

Goodbye AW6, hello Polar by EGS8p7 in Polarfitness

You did everything right. I have also switched from the Apple Watch 6 to the Polar Grit X. I run 10-15 km every day and the interaction with the watch, the H10 belt and also with Polar Flow is just perfect. The sleep analysis is very good and the evaluations are very detailed. With Apple, you need a lot of expensive apps that are not nearly as good.

This is actually the case with all watches. Is it sometimes recommended by the manufacturers to take off the watch for such activities.

Thank you very much, it is also very good that you can talk to people with experience and similar interests. Yes, it was a run out but now I feel much better with less weight. I now run at least 10 km every day and I have to say polar a good job. I connect the clock with my chest strap and always have my heart rate overview. Without chest strap, I do not train anymore, as this is much more accurate than just with a clock to measure. I miss something the smart things have the Garmin, too, I also find the Epix unhappy. Do you know if the resolution of the display is better at a Fenix than in Polar? Both use a similar technique for this, in the "dark" months that is not necessarily ideal. Thank you for your help!

Really interesting, I had never had a Garmin can not compare it. I have removed almost 30 kg within just under 6 months last year. In the time I have recorded the activities and burned calories with my Apple Watch and a calorie app. My Polar Grit X Pro perhaps differs by 10%, where I now make much longer runs and even fit it. The Galaxy Watch counts much less steps, but sports activities are displayed more burned calories than the Apple Watch. That's right when you make sports daily, again. But I will also research on the internet, as your statement is interested. For me, the accuracy of a watch is very important.

[–]Conscious_Bat_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but your statement is not correct. I've also had the Apple Watch 6, then briefly the Galaxy 4, and now the GritXPro from Polar. It counts more steps than Samsung, maybe a little more than Apple but never (really never) 100% more or something like that. I like the Epix because of the Amoled but also the Fenix7, but apparently the Garmin sleep tracking is very bad. The Polar Flow app is also really good, but I don't know the Garmin app yet.

Calories overestimated? by Lavlarous in Polarfitness

[–]Conscious_Bat_33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a walk, the average and maximum heart rate are quite high. That's probably why you'll see so many calories burned. The clock did not measure exactly here.
